3 Out into the World Whether it be for a winter test in the polar circle or project support, we are there, wherever our customers need us. From our head office in Werdohl and our facility in Aachen / Herzogenrath, our engineers travel around the world. We also have contacts available for our customers in North and South America as well as in China at our two foreign branches. 03

4 Combustion Engine and Powertrain Software Whether it s the optimisation and adjustment of the combustion engine (e.g. upgrading to compressed or liquefied natural gas) or the electrification of the power train (e.g. a hybrid approach), proper software components are essential. Furthermore, the workload and expenditure of development can be substantially reduced by using appropriate software, such as model-based function development or adaptive controlbased engine calibration. We offer our customers a comprehensive range of services: from (high-level) software function development, e.g. engine control, engine-transmission coordination or emissions and usage optimized calibration, to (low-level) hardware-dependent software development. We ensure quality and efficient development through established engineering processes and methods for example, functional safety management and development in accordance with CMMI and ISO standards. 5 Economical and Comfortable Together with our customers we are blazing new trails in the world of commercial vehicles. From the development and evaluation of new engine concepts via simulation of fuel consumption and vehicle dynamics through the construction and control of prototypes all the way to serial development, we offer our assistance throughout the world. It s here that we can also utilize our experience in design and control of double-clutch and continuously variable transmissions as well as hybrid powertrains, while always keeping the overall system in mind. With our skills in the fields of rapid prototyping and model-based software development we get concepts up and running quickly, in order to make new technologies assessable on the road. 6 NVH Loss of concentration due to background noises; fatigue of driver and machine due to vibrations together with our customers, we work on NVH issues so that such phenomena belong to the past for the commercial vehicle of tomorrow. Based on our 20-year experience in the field of vehicle acoustics, we produce solutions for the most diverse types of sound and vibration problems. To do this, we rely on modern measurement technology and efficient analysis methods, such as transfer path analysis, operating deflection shapes, modal analysis or multichannel (rotary) vibration measurements.
