1 Choose from a variety of workshops and classes and discover the joy of personal creation. In a supportive relaxing atmosphere you will expand your artistic skills while exploring your personal style. Classes are limited to 8 students allowing for plenty of individual attention. All classes operated on 6 week enrolments All workshops and classes require a minimum of numbers to proceed. A class requirement list is provided for each class. Classes are held at the Bairnsdale Studio- 28 Warde Street (unless otherwise stated) Classes also run monthly in Lakes Entrance Please read sign and return the enrolment and payment policy and class selections on the last page Drawing and painting classes 2015 February - July Drawing is the fundamental vocabulary of an artist. It is an essential tool for observing, recording and responding to the world around us. In class you will be introduced to a variety of materials including graphite, ink, conte crayon, water colour and mixed media. You will learn the technical elements of line, tone, form, composition and perspective. Students will experiment with a variety of drawing resources, from still life, direct observation and photographic references. Students are encouraged to use their own references, working both realistically and stylistically. A six week block of classes is $ Drawing classes (intermediate level) Monday evening classes Time: 7pm - 9:30pm (No classes on Public Holidays) Block 1 February 9 th - March 16 th - Industrial drawing, buildings, machinery, surfaces Block 2 April 13 th - May 18 th - approaching abstraction, all mediums Block 3 May 25 th - July 6 th - portraits in perspective- studying the masters Painting classes (beginners to intermediate) Thursday morning classes Time: 9.30pm -12noon Block 1 - March 19 - dramatic still life, utilising the traditional painting methods Block 2 - April 30 - flowers and plants Block 3 - June 11 - working from your own references Drawing to painting (beginners to intermediate)

2 Thursday afternoon classes Time: 1pm pm Block 1 th - March 19 th - fundamentals of drawing Block 2 th - April 30 th - composition and perspective Block 3 th - June 11 th - working to a finished piece Workshops Bairnsdale All workshops include demonstrations, handouts, references and some basic materials. I will paint alongside you, teaching you step by step as you learn the fundamentals of colour mixing, composition and value. We finish off the workshop with a glass of champagne, nibbles and a critique. Plein- Air (in the open air) workshop Saturday January 17th Time: 10 am 3pm approximately Cost: $150 This workshop is for all mediums and levels and will be held at the picturesque Ellasville homestead of Jimmy Stephenson and Charme Sedunary in Ellasville Road, Nicholson. With views encompassing both the Nicholson River and the East Gippsland Lakes there will be plenty of subject matter to choose from. The workshop will conclude with canapés and local wines. An information session on this class will be held in the Bairnsdale Studio in Warde Street on the evening of Thursday the 8 th of January pm Collage/ abstraction Saturday and Sunday March 14 th and 15 th Time: 10am 3pm Cost: $150 Collage allows you to experiment with a wide range of materials to achieve amazing textured results. Suitable for beginners and experienced artists you will have a completed piece by the end of the workshop. Create a canvas (beginners to intermediate) One day workshop Saturday April 18th Time: 10 am 3pm Cost: $120 Location: To be confirmed A day for the complete novice or experienced artist. Create a large canvas for your home using abstract forms. Some materials supplied. Stylised/ Contemporary painting

3 Saturday and Sunday May 30 th and 31 st Time: 10 am 3pm Cost: $150 Explore and create a contemporary design for your home in a relaxed weekend class. The work has a naïve styled approach making it perfect for the beginner to the more experienced. Life drawing (contemporary) (intermediate) One day workshop with model Saturday June 20 th Time: 10 am 2pm Cost: $150 (Including model charge) Location: To be confirmed One of the best ways to improve your drawing skills, expand the way you draw from observation and stimulate your creativity. Floral Art Bairnsdale An extension of art itself floral design is the art of using foliage and flowers to create an attractive and balanced composition. You will be guided step by step to complete floral designs, and arrangements that incorporate the art elements: line, form, space, texture, and color, and the principles of art: balance, proportion, rhythm, contrast, harmony, and unity. Workshops are held monthly on the third Thursday of the month commencing February 19th All materials are supplied Time: 7pm Cost: $50 per session (payable on the night) Workshops Lakes Entrance Drawing to painting (Beginners to intermediate) Classes are held once every 4 weeks commencing Friday February 13 th Time: 10 am 3pm Cost $70.00 (payable to Lakes Entrance Neighbourhood House) Location: Lakes Entrance Neighbourhood House Heatherly Grove Lakes Entrance These classes will introduce you to a variety of materials including graphite, ink, water colour, oil painting and mixed media. 6 Workshops that do not meet the minimum student enrolment will be postponed. In the event of this occurring, you will be notified 2 weeks prior and offered a full refund of monies paid. Cancellations Situations can sometimes arise causing a change to your plans. It is not possible for me to favour an individual situation or circumstance over another. Therefore I must maintain a standard business policy for all with no exceptions. 30 days from the time of registration- full refund Under 30 days notice no refunds of deposits will be given. Full fee payments will receive a refund of 50 % of the total paid.
