All applicants are bound by the Terms, either upon submission of the application form; or/and when LASALLE accepts the application and notifies you that we are able to provide the courses; based on whichever is earlier. 1.2 Applicants who applied for a wrong course or have made a mistake in the application are required to notify Short Courses staff in writing. Short Courses will only accept responsibility for statements and representations made in writing by our authorized employees. 1.3 If you require a hardcopy application form to be posted, please call the Short Courses Office on Mon Fri, 9am - 5pm at or shortcourses@lasalle.edu.sg 2. FEES 2.1 Full payment of the course fees must be received prior to commencement of the courses. Your place on the course cannot be guaranteed until full payment is received. 2.2 All fees stated are inclusive of GST. 3. MODE OF PAYMENT 3.1 Online. Fees can be paid by credit/debit card online or in person at LASALLE. 3.2 In-Person. Fees can be paid by cash if payment is made in person at the LASALLE Finance counter, Block E, Level 2 during office hours from Mon Fri, 9am 3pm (except PH). 3.3 Post. Payment by cheque/bankdraft is also accepted and has to reach the LASALLE Short Courses office before class commencement day. Please make all cheques/bankdrafts payable to LASALLE and post to: Attn: Short LASALLE, LASALLE College of the Arts, 1 McNally Street, Singapore Kindly indicate your name, contact number and course title at the back of the cheque. Please DO NOT send cash cheques. 3.4 Invoice. For company sponsored courses, and if invoice is required, applicants are to write to Short Courses on your company s letterhead with your application form. Applicant s place on the course is not confirmed until payment has been received. Payment is required within 30 days of the date of the invoice or as specified. Discounts are not applicable for courses paid through invoice. 3.5 A 50% deposit of the course fee is required and payable to Short Courses, for applicants who are utilizing more than 50% of Skills Future Credit # for payment of course fees. The deposit will be refunded two weeks after the course commencement date. If however, you withdraw within 7 working days before the course commencement date, deposit will be forfeited. 4. ELIGIBILITY 4.1 Anyone aged 18 and above, or otherwise stated within the course outline. 5. DISCOUNT 5.1 LASALLE alumni, current students, part-time staff, SAFRA members & returning Short Courses participants are entitled to a 10% discount except for courses marked with an asterisk * and ALL Preparatory classes. 5.2 LASALLE full-time staff and their immediate family members are entitled to a 50% discount except for courses marked with an asterisk *(conditions apply) and ALL Preparatory classes. 5.3 Returning participant refers to participants who has successfully attended & completed a LASALLE Short Courses programme and have received a Certificate of Participation. 5.4 First-time applicant is not eligible for discount when registering for two courses before applying for the subsequent course(s) if they wish to enjoy the discount. 5.5 Participants need to provide valid staff / membership / student card / certificate upon submitting application. Returning Short Courses students need to provide a copy of the past-attended certificate of participation for discount entitlement. 5.6 A full course fee applies should you be unable to provide us with the necessary documents. An administrative fee of $5.35 applies should you require LASALLE to retrieve such evidence from our records. 6. CLOSING DATE OF APPLICATION 6.1 Closing date for application is five working days prior to the scheduled commencement date, or when the class has been fully subscribed, whichever earlier. 7. LATE APPLICATION 7.1 Should there be low applications for a course, the course will still be open for application to the public right up until the course start date. 7.2 Late applicants are required to have their place on the course confirmed by telephone or . If, however, applicants have not received confirmation within 24 hours of application, it is their responsibility to check the status of the application. This can be done by contacting the Short Course Office at OVERSEAS APPLICATIONS 8.1 Please check with Short Courses staff via / phone to ensure that the place is confirmed and the course is running before making any travel arrangements. Short Courses is not liable for travel or accommodation cost in accordance with Clause 9.4. Date: 8.2 Fees and refunds are payable in Singapore Dollars. Short Courses is not liable for any losses incurred as a result of currency fluctuations or exchanges. 9. CANCELLED CLASS 9.1 Please note that all Short Courses require a minimum number of applicants and may be cancelled if too few applications are received. 9.2 Short Courses reserves the right to amend or cancel courses, change course locations and substitute lecturers or tutors. 9.3 Short Courses staff will make every effort to inform you of the cancellations via or phone three days prior to the commencement of course and you will have the option of transferring to another Short Course or have a full refund of the paid fees. 9.4 LASALLE will not be liable for any losses (including, but not limited to, travel and accommodation costs) arising as a consequence of any modification, cancellation of courses or time tabling constraints as set out above and beyond the cost of the course fee. 10. WITHDRAWAL & REFUNDS 10.1 Withdrawal requests must be made in writing to the short Courses Office Each request will be assessed and processed based on the following refund guideline: A 100% refund if receipt of student s written notice of withdrawal is received 7 working days before the course commencement date, less an administration charges of $ A 50%refund if receipt of student s written notice of withdrawal is received 3 working days before the course commencement date, less an administration charges of $ A 0% refund if receipt of student s written notice of withdrawal is received less than 3 working days before the course commencement date. A 0% refund for missed class(es) and No Show. 11. SUBSTITUTION 11.1 You may transfer your enrolled space to a substitute student if you are unable to attend a course; the latest transfer date is one week before course commencement All substitution cases must be made in writing, to the Short Courses Office. A $32.10 administration charge is payable for each substitution Substitution cannot be accepted after the course has started. 12. TRANSFERS 12.1 You may transfer onto another course up to two weeks before course commencement date Transfer requests must be made in writing, to the Short Courses Office. A $32.10 administration charge is payable for each transfer Transfer is not allowed once course has started. 13. NON-ATTENDANCE 13.1 Non-attendance at classes due to illness, personal and professional reasons does not give rise to the right to refunds, extra course hours or course transfer. 14. CERTIFICATION 14.1 A minimum achievement of 80% attendance is required for participants to receive a Certificates of Participation Certificate of Participation entitles returning participants to a 10% discount of Short Course fees Discount is valid for three years from the date of Certification Re-printing of misplaced Certificate is chargeable at $10.70 for each course. 15. MATERIALS 15.1 Course fee do not include materials and / or refreshments, unless otherwise stated. Please refer to the required material list corresponding to the course(s) you enrolled for. 16. ENGLISH 16.1 All classes are conducted in English. 17. PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOGRAPHY 17.1 Due to copyright and privacy, and to respect other participants, the use of audio and / or visual recording equipment is not permitted at any point during the course. 18. HEALTH & SAFETY 18.1 Participants are required to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for all practical classes. This will be discussed with all on the first day of class; please refer to the required material list for further information. Participants who fail to comply with health and safety are not allowed to participate in practical classes LASALLE is not liable for any loss, damage, death, injury, disability and any loss damage to property or person, from any cause in connection to these Short Courses and their related activities. 19. CONFIDENTIALITY 19.1 All information written in the application form will be treated with strict confidentiality.

3 Creative Arts Boot Camp (Drawing & Painting / 3-D workshop) Duration: 30 May 3 Jun (Mon & Fri) / 1 Jul 2 Sep (Every Fri) Drawing & Painting 6 10 Jun (Mon - Fri) / 1 Jul 2 Sep (Every Fri) 3-D Workshop Time: 10am - 3pm (Mon Fri) / 4 6pm (Fri) Session: Intensive JUNE programme: 5 classes (May: 30, 31, Jun: 1, 2, 3) / 10 classes (Jul: 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, Aug: 5, 12, 19, 26, Sep: 2) Intensive JUNE programme: 5 classes (Jun: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) / 10 classes (Jul: 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, Aug: 5, 12, 19, 26, Sep: 2) This enrichment course introduces students to many areas of the fine arts, with the purpose of improving their techniques and arts language. Over the five-day course, students work with LASALLE s award winning faculty across several art mediums, including: charcoal drawing figure drawing and painting mixed media drawing art appreciation ink paint acrylic painting and oil painting for beginners drawing using the right side of the brain watercolour painting ceramics metal sculpture wood sculpture installation art Cost of Materials: Approximately $50, to be purchased by participants. Creative Arts Boot Camp (2-week Animation Workshop) Duration: Jun (Mon Fri) Time: 10am 3pm Fee: $860 Session: Intensive JUNE programme: 10 classes (Jun: 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24) This enrichment course introduces students to many areas of animation, with the purpose of developing new skills, techniques and arts language. Over the two-week course, students work with LASALLE s award winning faculty across several animation software and techniques, including: 2D animation 3D animation storyboarding storytelling character development TVPaint MAYA

4 Creating on Canvas with Acrylic Paint Learn the basic techniques and different styles of acrylic painting. This is an introductory course that covers basic painting techniques of the acrylic medium, including the use of composition, color, texture, form and value through still life, landscape, portrait and figure. Duration: 7 21 Jun (Every Tue & Thu) / 1 29 Jul (Every Fri) Time: 10am 12pm (Tue & Thu) / 4 6pm (Fri) Fee: $240 Session: 5 classes (Jun: 7, 9, 14, 16, 21) / 5 classes (Jul: 1, 8, 15, 22, 29) Cost of Materials: Approximately $70, to be purchased by participants. Get Creative with Linoprint Fancy getting your own favourite print? Create your own image(s) and learn how to carve into lino blocks with the essential cutting tools and transferring your design on variety of different papers or surfaces. Duration: 6 20 Jun (Every Mon & Wed) / 29 Jun 3 Aug (Every Wed) Time: 10am 12pm (Mon & Wed) / 4 6pm (Wed) Fee: $240 Session: 5 classes (Jun: 6, 8, 13, 15, 20) / 5 classes (Jun: 29, Jul: 13, 20, 27, Aug: 3) Cost of Materials: Approximately $50, to be purchased by participants. Semi Abstract Oil Painting Learn the basic techniques of oil painting. Participants will be introduced to a variety of painting techniques as well as principles of composition. Duration: 7 21 Jun (Every Tue & Thu) / 1 29 Jul (Every Fri) Time: 1 3pm (Tue & Thu) / 4 6pm (Fri) Fee: $240 Session: 5 classes (Jun: 7, 9, 14, 16, 21) / 5 classes (Jul: 1, 8, 15, 22, 29) Cost of Materials: Approximately $80, to be purchased by participants. Discover Batik Painting Explore creative techniques used in Batik Painting. You will be given hands-on experience to waxing and dying techniques. Experiment with different colour tones, lines and textures as you produce your very own batik painting. 5 The Art of 2D Paper Sculpture Learn the basic skills of paper sculpture and mixed media relief art techniques. Create a relief surface that communicates and expresses your ideas with a two dimensional media. Duration: 7 30 Jun Jun (Every Tue & Thu) / 16 Jul 3 Sep (Every Sat) Time: 10am 1pm Session: 8 classes (Jun: 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30) / 8 classes (Jul: 16, 23, 30, Aug: 6, 13, 20, 27, Sep: 3) Cost of Materials: Approximately $40, to be purchased by participants. The Art of Colour Pencil Drawing Be inspired by the techniques and style used for coloured pencil rendering. Explore various applications of shading and mark-making techniques using coloured pencils and other complementary drawing media. Duration: 7 30 Jun (Every Tue & Thu) / 16 Jul 3 Sep (Every Sat) Time: 2-5pm Fee: $400 Session: 8 classes (Jun: 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30) / 8 classes (Jul: 16, 23, 30, Aug: 6, 13, 20, 27, Sep: 3) Cost of Materials: Approximately $40, to be purchased by participants. Folio Development Workshop Folio Development Workshop is a three-day workshop designed specifically for applicants who are keen to enroll into LASALLE s Visual Studies Diploma programmes or the Foundation Certificate in Visual Arts. Attendees will learn to develop areas of interest through a chosen subject / theme: to draw and recreate images through active explorations using various mediums and materials; and to present and communicate ideas. Duration: May / Jun / Jul (Mon Wed) Time: 10am 4pm Fee: $350 Session: 3 classes (May: 16, 17, 18) / 3 classes (Jun: 13, 14, 15) / 3 classes (Jul: 25, 26, 27) Who Should Attend: This workshop is designed for those who would like to apply for admission to LASALLE s Visual Studies Diploma programmes or the Foundation Certificate in Visual Arts. Material Required: LASALLE will provide basic stationery and art materials (wet and dry medium). Participants are still required to bring other art materials. This is to be advised on Day 1. Developing Imagination through Animation Participants completing this 3-day course will be able to demonstrate a variety of skills and methods related to developing their imagination and creativity. This course includes a selection of exercises and projects to encourage and challenge participants to develop creative thinking. Ultimately participants will produce 2 short animated exercises. Duration: Jul (Mon Wed) Time: 10am 1pm Fee: $380 Session: 3 classes (Jul: 18, 19, 20)

6 Introduction to Adobe Photoshop This course is an introductory course to introduce the tools and technical skills necessary to create and edit images in the world s most popular graphics Adobe Photoshop. Participants will cover a full range of tools, filters, and image manipulation to create simple graphics and collages. Duration: 6 8 Jun / Jul (Mon- Wed) Time: 10am 4pm Session: 3 classes (Jun: 6, 7, 8) / 3 classes (Jul: 11, 12, 13) Who Should Attend: Anyone interested in learning the basics of Adobe Photoshop software. Introduction to 2D Animation Participants completing this 5-day course will be able to demonstrate basic skills in creating background simple characters and animation. Participants will use TVPaint (animation painting software) to create a series of animation exercises incorporating basic animation principles to produce a short animated sequence. Duration: 6-11 Jun (Mon - Sat) Time: 2 6pm Session: 6 classes (Jun: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) Who Should Attend: A passion to bring your own drawings to life Introduction to 3D Animation Participants completing this 5-day course will be able to demonstrate basic skills in modeling, lighting and animation, specifically for environment and characters, Using MAYA software, participants will be introduced to polygon modeling and texturing to create a simple robot of their own design. They will then create rigging system (controls) to animate a short animation. Duration: 6-11 Jun (Mon - Sat) Time: 9am 1pm Session: 6 classes (Jun: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) Who Should Attend: Anyone who has deep interest in Droids and Robots. Upper secondary students (15 17 years old) with little or no formal art training. Introduction to Storyboarding Participants completing this 3-day course will be able to demonstrate basic skills in communicating and delivery visual storytelling through film and animation. This will introduce the basic concepts of film language and cinematography. Additionally, this course will cover basic rendering techniques. Participants will ultimately create an animatic a storyboard image produced as a movie. Duration: Time: Jun (Mon - Wed) 10am 4pm

7 Fee: $380 Session: 3 classes (Jun: 20, 21, 22) Introduction to Zbrush Participants completing this 5-day course will be able to demonstrate basic skills in digital sculpting to create hard and soft surface characters and creatures. Participants will be able to create and use customized brushes and tolls to create a variety of effects and surfaces suitable for visualizing characters and creatures. Duration: Jun (Mon - Fri) Time: 10am 4pm Session: 5 classes (Jun: 13, 14, 15, 16, 17) Who Should Attend: Anyone who wishes to explore the Monsters and Creature characters. Storytelling for Animation Participants completing this 5-day course will be able to demonstrate skills and processes suitable for systematic approaches to creating stories suitable for animation. This workshop approaches storytelling through adaptation allowing participants to understand narrative structure, theme, content, and simple character based narrative. Participants will create a storyboard and characters development for their narrative. Duration: 27 Jun 1 Jul (Mon - Fri) Time: 10am 4pm Session: 5 classes (Jun: 27, 28, 29, 30, Jul: 1) Who Should Attend: Anyone who has a passion to develop their learning skills to create their own animations. Acting Develop your voice, body and imagination as a performer through practical classes. In this course, you will have the opportunity to learn the foundation for acting. You will practice acting techniques respond to scripts, and develop collaborative performance skills as you work on a variety of scenes. Duration: Jun (Mon Fri) Time: 10am 3pm Session: 5 classes (Jun: 13, 14, 15, 16, 17) Who Should Attend: Anyone interested in understanding acting techniques and engaging in performances, Material Required: Participants should wear comfortable clothes in which they can move freely and easily. Rock School Rock School is for beginner/intermediate musicians looking to gain experience playing in a band. Reveal and revel in your musical talent by performing together with others in a rock band at LASALLE. Through hands-on tutoring with professional musicians, develop your pop and rock music skills (instrumental or vocal), your capacity to collaborate in a band, your understanding of performance techniques and about different styles of popular music.

8 Duration: 28 May 16 Jul (Every Sat) Time: 2pm 5pm Session: 8 classes (May: 28, Jun: 4, 11, 18, 25, Jul: 2, 9, 16) Who Should Attend: Anyone interested in music. Material Required: Bring your own musical instruments including vocals, bass, drums, guitar, piano, percussion, brass, and woodwind. Drummers will need to bring cymbals and hi hat clutch (drums and hardware are provided). Microphone and lead required PA system is provided for vocalist. Guitarist and bass players will need their instruments and ¼ leads, piano will be provided but it is recommended that pianist bring an electric keyboard. Foundations of Music Develop your knowledge of music to inform and expand your performance skills. Learn how to read music scores, and how to sight-read easily. This course extends your ability to recognize music styles, rhythms and keys, hence developing a solid music theory foundation to support your music skills. Duration: 9 Apr 4 Jun (Every Sat) Time: 10am 1pm Session: 8 classes (Apr: 9, 16, 23, 30, May: 7, 14, 28, Jun: 4) Who Should Attend: Self-taught musicians who have never received any formal music theory education, and who would like to raise their level of musicianship. Highly recommended for those who do not have any formal music training and are considering applying for LASALLE s Diploma and BA(Hons) Music programmes. Material Required: Notepads and writing materials.
