1 TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Presented by Leah Shmerling, Crown Coaching The TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is specifically designed for teachers involved in vocational training and assessment. Format: Online - Individual Audience: The qualification is for secondary teachers who wish to extend their qualifications to include the ability to train in VET subjects and courses in school/ industry. Description A nationally recognised qualification, the Certificate IV in Training & Assessment is fast becoming the required standard. This qualification is required for individuals delivering training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector. The program equips you with the skills, knowledge and resources to plan, design, organise and conduct training and assessment across a broad context, and specifically, the education context. Each unit is reviewed and assessed from the point of view of a VET in schools teacher, and specific assessment exercises have been contextualised as to a schools environment. The assessment criteria for each unit have been interpreted and applied in a way that qualified teachers are able to rely on existing skills to complete required assessment material as far as possible. Additional notes about this format The program will be delivered on-line. Individual units will be able to be accessed and worked through independently, but each unit will be supported by an instructor-led video explaining the nuances of each unit and providing workplace examples. Supplementary materials from various sources will be demonstrated, and candidates will be required to complete activities and exercises

2 during the course, and major activities and performative exercises during and at the end. Each week (or more or less often depending on demand) candidates will have access to 1-2 hour Q&A webinars further explaining issues arising from the learning materials. A learner group blog will be established to provide the opportunity for learners to engage with one another and the instructors to answer any queries which may arise, or to learn from the experiences of others. Review the assessment process

Contribute to validation outcomes TAEDEL401A Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning 30 hours This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to plan, organise and deliver training for individuals within a group. Topics include: 1. Interpret learning environment and delivery requirements 2. Prepare session plans 3. Prepare resources for delivery 4. Deliver and facilitate training sessions 5. Support and monitor learning TAEDEL402A Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace 25 hours This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to plan, organise and facilitate learning for individuals in a workplace. Topics include: 1. Establish effective work environment for learning 2. Develop a work-based learning pathway 3. Establish the learning-facilitation relationship 4. Implement work-based learning pathway 5. Maintain and develop the learning/facilitation relationship 6. Close and evaluate the learning/facilitation relationship 7. Monitor and review the effectiveness of the work-based learning pathway TAEDES401A Design and develop learning programs 50 hours This unit describes the pskills and knowledge required to conceptualise, design, develop and review learning programs to meet an identified need for a group of learners. The unit addresses the skills and knowledge needed to identify the parameters of a learning program, determine the design, outline the content and review its effectiveness. Topics include: 1. Define parameters of the learning program 2. Work within the vocational education and training (VET) policy framework 3. Develop program content 4. Design structure of the learning program TAEDES402A Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs 25 hours

4 This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to use training packages and accredited courses as tools to support industry, organisation and individual competency development needs. Topics include: 1. Select appropriate training package or accredited course 2. Analyse and interpret the qualifications framework 3. Analyse and interpret units of competency and accredited modules 4. Contextualise units and modules for client applications 5. Analyse and interpret assessment guidance BSBCMM401A Make a presentation 30 hours This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to prepare, deliver and review a presentation to a target audience. The presentation may be for a range of purposes that is suitable to the student's context. Topics include: 1. Prepare a presentation 2. Deliver a presentation 3. Review the presentation TAEASS301B Contribute to assessment 10 hours This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to collect evidence, and contribute to the assessment process. Topics include: 1. Clarify role and responsibilities in the assessment process 2. Confirm organisational arrangements for evidence gathering 3. Collect evidence in accordance with the assessment plan 4. Record and report findings TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills 30 hours This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise the core language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) demands of training and assessment, and to tailor training and assessment to suit individual skill levels, including accessing relevant support resources. Topics include: 1. Determine the core LLN requirements of the training 2. Access specialist learning support 3. Customise program to develop core LLN skills About the team

Leah has also written professional and business publications. Leah is a qualified Career Counsellor, Career and Life Coach, assisting individuals to achieve both their professional and personal goals to lead a positive and fulfilled life. Leah holds a Master in Professional Education and Training, Graduate Diploma in Career Development, and Certificates in Life Coaching, Mediation Skills, and Psychodrama. Leah is a professional member of the Career Development Association Australia (CDAA), a professional member of Australian Career Professionals International (ACPi-Aus).
