1 Rppe SafeTcrk Prduct Data Sectin 9 Resilient Flring Maintenance 7.1 Initial Maintenance Liquid/Slutin Cleaning: D nt scrub, buff r mp the tile fr at least 48 hurs after installatin t allw the adhesive and heat welds t prperly cure. D nt fld the tile when cleaning and d nt allw the cleaning slutin r tpical misture t wrk its way beneath the tile which can result in an adhesive and/r tile failure. Remve any cvering that may have been used t prtect the flr. The tile must be prperly cleaned befre it is released fr nrmal use. First, Sweep and vacuum t remve dirt and ther particulates, then damp mp the flring with a mild, neutral ph cleaner such as Spartan Chemicals Damp Mp ( ) r Green Slutins All Purpse Cleaner r Neutral Disinfectant Cleaner. DO NOT use highly alkaline r acidic cleaners. DO NOT use sweeping r cleaning agents cntaining ils r slvents. Rinse the flring immediately after mpping with clean warm water and remve rinse water with a wet/dry vacuum and allw t dry cmpletely befre expsing t traffic. DO NOT fld the flring! T remve excessive dirt, scuffs, r light scratches, after the installatin, wet buff using a lw speed rtary buffer, RPM, with a 3M 5300 Blue Cleaner Pad. Dry buff with a 3M 5100 Red Buffer Pad fllwed with a 3M 4100 White Super Plish Pad t achieve the required glssy appearance. Always check fr cmpatibility and perfrmance prir t cleaning by utilizing uninstalled material r test in an incnspicuus area befre prceeding t determine if the desired results can be achieved withut distrting r having an adverse effect n the tile. Cautin: When wet, the flring will becme slippery; therefre, use the apprpriate warning signs n the flr t eliminate ft r vehicular traffic Dry Buffing: DO NOT dry buff until 48 hurs after the installatin and after the tile has been liquid/slutin cleaned. Sweep, dust mp, r vacuum the flr t remve dirt and ther particulate befre dry buffing. Dry buff with a lw speed rtary buffer, RPM, using a 3M 5300 Blue Cleaner Pad fllwed with a 3M 5100 Red Buffer Pad t remve any directinal sheen r light shading. T finish use a 3M 4100 White Super Plish Pad t achieve the desired glssy appearance. DO NOT heel the buffing machine Regular Maintenance: DO NOT scrub r mp the flring fr at least 48 hurs after the installatin t allw the adhesive t prperly cure. Cautin: Sme germicides, disinfectants, cleaning agents, flr maintenance prducts, and pesticides may stain r damage the surface f slid vinyl tile; therefre, test the prducts t assure they will stain r damage the tile. Peridic cleaning with a 3M 5300 Blue Cleaner Pad may be required t prevent buildup f germicidal cleaners r ther cleaning slutins. DO NOT heel the buffing machine. When applying sealers r finishes always check first fr cmpatibility, bnding and clr darkening f the flring by testing n a scrap piece f flring t ensure the desired results and appearance is achieved. If a flr sealer/finish is preferred, first fllw sectins nted in Sectin 7.1. Once the tile has been prperly cleaned, test fr prper adhesin by applying Spartan Chemical's Shineline Sealer (24% slids thermplastic sealer) t a small area with a spnge and allw t cmpletely dry. If the finish pulls back and des nt level ut, repeat step until the sealer is firmly bnded. If the sealer des level and is firmly bnded, Spartan Shineline Sealer can be used t seal the flr by applying with a finish mp. Once Shineline Seal has been applied and prperly dry, apply 1-2 very thin cats f the Spartan flr finish that meets yur traffic and maintenance needs. Each cat f flr finish must be applied in ppsite directins t ensure prper cverage regardless f the flring prfile. Cntact yur Spartan Chemical Representative r Spartan Chemical ( ) directly fr prper finish recmmendatins t meet specific traffic and maintenance requirements. If an envirnmentally preferable prduct is desired, apply 1-3 very thin cats f Spartan Green Slutins Flr Seal & Finish (acrylic c-plymer based flr seal and finish cmbinatin) in lieu f Shineline Sealer. Ntice: Finishes listed belw must be burnished (plished until shinny) in rder t maintain glss levels. Glss lss with these finishes is due t superficial wear and tear. Strip with either Spartan Chemical's Rinse Free Stripper r Green Slutins Flr Finish Remver utilizing a single disc 175 RPM maximum scrubbing machine with a sft-bristled nyln brush (required fr raised prfiles) r a 3M 4100 White Super Plish Pad (required fr smth finish prfiles). Ensure the brush r pad des nt scratch r damage the flring. Rinse with clean, cl water and remve rinse water with wet/dry vacuum and allw flr t dry cmpletely. Refer t Sectin regarding reapplying the recmmended Spartan Chemical's flr sealer and finish. Cautin: When wet, flring will becme slippery; therefre, use the apprpriate warning signs n the flr t eliminate ft r ther traffic. Remve slutin with a wet/dry vacuum. DO NOT allw the slutin t dry r wrk its way beneath the flring resulting in an adhesive failure. Cautin: Applying sealers r finishes will darken the flrings riginal clr. The flring must be prperly cleaned by first sweeping r vacuuming t remve dirt and ther particulates frm bth smth and prfiled flrs. Dust mp smth prfile flrs with Spartan's Dust Mp/Dust Clth Treatment. Flring can als be damp mpped with Spartan's Damp Mp Detergent Cncentrate r Spartan DMQ Neutral Disinfectant Cleaner. If an envirnmentally preferable prduct is desired, damp mp with Spartan Green Slutins All Purpse Cleaner. An aut-scrubber with a scrubbing brush (required fr raised prfiles) r 3M White Super Plish Pad (required fr smth finish prfiles) may als be used fr cleaning. Dry buffing shuld be perfrmed n a rutine basis t maintain the surface luster. DO NOT dry buff until the tile have been thrughly cleaned and allwed t cmpletely dry. Buff tile using a single disc rpm maximum buffing machine with an attached sft plishing brush required fr textured, slate and raised designed tile. Plish tile in bth directins. Ensure the plishing brushes d nt scratch the tile DO NOT heel the buffing machine. After a perid f time, the build up f wax r flr finish will need t be remved.
