2 Certificate of Practical. The Certificate of Practical course is delivered by the Australian School of and Relaxation (ASRR). The ASRR is the only licensed school in Australia teaching the Original Ingham Method of. This certified course is perfect to give you skills to perform reflexology on family and friends. It provides a solid foundation and recognition of prior learning, should you decide to go on to complete a Diploma of through the ASRR. This course is also designed to equip therapists currently working in the health care industry at professional level, with the skills and knowledge to work as a professional reflexologist. The course focuses on specialised training in the Original Ingham Method of. Graduates will be registered with the International Institute of. The course covers the broad range of skills required to equip you to provide therapeutic reflexology sessions. Course overview The Certificate of Practical requires the completion of 200 nominal hours of training The Australian School of and Relaxation has selected the partnership with the International Institute of, as it is the most widely recognised, tried and tested of all of the reflexology methods. The roots of Most modern forms of reflexology can be traced back to the Original Ingham Method. It forms the perfect foundation for further study in reflexology methods. The lessons have been designed to give students a good understanding of reflexology methods, revision and fine- of techniques. Student case studies are to be completed in addition to class hours. These may be completed in consenting health care facilities, or with student s family and friends. Students will be practicing their techniques in supervised student clinics. Course Duration Part time: 6 months one day per week. This consists of 2 terms of 10 weeks. Each class is held from 9.30am to 3 pm. The nominal hours for the certificate course are 200. These hours will be combined between classes, supervised clinic hours, student practice hours and homework. Course Details The course will be delivered in a class-based model where students are required to attend regular classes, attend on-site supervised clinical practice as well as complete home-based study and practice. Training Arrangements Students gain content and theory through the attendance at classes held at the training venue. Practical skills and knowledge will be gained through hours completed in class, as well as non-supervised practice at home and completion of 3 case studies. Where a student misses classes, the trainer will negotiate a plan with the student to ensure they keep up with the class. Training and materials will be written by the ASRR under license from the International Institute of. Textbook - Better Health with Foot. Training powerpoints /DVD provided by the IIR. Students will be provided with a manual that will form the basis of class work. Practical Experience Students complete at least 100 hours of practice in the form of practicing on family and friends, supervised clinic and case studies. This practical component ensures that students have time to practice applying their skills and knowledge learned from classes to the practical role of working as a reflexologist. Case studies and supervised clinical practice will not commence until students have completed the first five classes, to ensure they have a good foundation behind them before they start practicing. 3 Certificate of Practical. Assessment Arrangements Students will be required to sit final exams in Theory and Practical Ingham Techniques. Competency is based on an 80% pass mark and the successful completion of case studies. Career and Education Outcomes Students will be equipped to add a reflexology service to their existing professional practice After the completion of the IIR Certificate of, students may wish to go on to further study of postgraduate reflexology training or gain credits for the ASRR Diploma of.
