3 Helpful hint: If you want to describe the weather as VERY (hot, cold, etc), you use très. If you want to say A LOT, you use beaucoup (ex: il pleut beaucoup) You can use a definite article (le, la, l,les) + a color to point out a specific item. Ex: le bleu = the blue one Verbs that end in cer (commencer), you use a Ç in the nous form (nous commençons). 6 Lesson 7:04 Faire Faire = to do / to make Faire is an irregular verb (like être, aller and avoir), so it does not follow a predictable pattern. Je fais (I do/make) Singular Tu fais (You do/make) Il (He does/makes) Elle (She does/makes) On [One does/makes, we do/make (informal)] Plural Nous (We do/make) Vous (You do/make) (You plural or formal when referring to older people or people you do not know very well or higher hierarchy) Ils [They do/make (masculine or mixed)] Elles [They do/make (feminine)] Imperative Commands (Command forms telling someone what to do) Fais! (tu form) Faisons! (nous form) Faites! (vous form) Did you know? Idiomatic expressions are common phrases or sayings that don t translate well because the meaning cannot be inferred from the meanings of the words that make it up. Ex: Il fait beau.

You use ne pas around the verb to make a sentence negative. Ex: Je ne suis pas triste. When your sentence is negative, all forms of de (du, de la, de l, des) revert back to de. There is another way to say YES in French, besides oui! You use si when responding affirmatively to a negative question. EXAMPLE : Tu n aimes pas la pizza? -Si! J adore la pizza! EXAMPLE : Elle n a pas de frère? -Si! Elle a deux frères!

8 Lesson 7:06 Le Futur Proche Le future proche is used when saying what a person. Futur Proche = Subject Form of aller Infinitive* je vais danser tu vas jouer il/elle/on va aller nous allons faire vous allez être ils/elles vont écouter *your infinitive will change depending on the action being done When your sentence is negative, the ne pas goes around the form of.
