1 Second Year French MFL1 Scheme of Work Studio 2 Module 1 T es branché? (aim to finish by mid-november) Learning Objectives: Present tense and revision of hobbies and personal details Studio 2 vert: Module 1 T es branché? Unité 1: La télé Unité 2: J ai une passion pour le cinéma Unité 3: La lecture Unité 4: Que fais-tu quand t es connecté (e)? Unité 5 : Quand il fait beau on va au parc ICT Resources and ipads Studio 2 Active Learn (vert and rouge) are digital books and students will use these instead of textbooks. Homework can be set as assignments and there are additional resources on the Active Teach for the pupils. Student Planner (for homework) Pupils to download key apps (Linguastars/Linguascope/ Vocab Express Pupils to continue to use the vocabulary and grammar book on their ipad to upload material. They should have started this in the First Year. Student resource section of the website for additional resources. : Present tense Revision of present tense verbs including irregular verbs: faire, aller, avoir, etre. Use of negatives Studio Grammaire: pages At this stage there is a great deal of revision to do in order to make sure that the present tense is secure. Test pupils on the four key irregular verbs, (aller, faire, avoir and être). Homework should include: Assignments from studio, vocabulary learning + short chunks of writing. Pupils need to get used to completing work on a variety of skills. Encourage good presentation from the start. Assessments: Studio 2 module 1 Listening, reading and writing assessment Listening and Reading rouge. Writing in mfl office. Pupils will be using their digital book and Vocab Express to speed up the acquisition of vocabulary and to work on present tense verbs. The theme of hobbies will allow pupils the chance to revise work from last year but the topics of TV programmes, films, reading and IT give them new vocabulary to master. Pupils will be encouraged to speak French in the classroom.

Studio 2 rouge Module 2 can be used to practice the Perfect tense Unité 1 Paris touristique Unité 2 Les jeunes Parisiens Unité 3 Ca, c est la question Unité 4 C était comment? Unité 5 Le 14 juillet à Paris Module 1 Unité 5 Studio 2 rouge Qu est-ce que tu as fait hier soir? (pages 16-17) On peut + infinitive. Two verbs together j aime + infinitive Introduction of the Perfect Tense er verbs negative form Studio Grammaire: Studio 2 vert and rouge pages ICT Resources : ipads: extra resources. Vocab Express to learn vocabulary and to practise verbs in the perfect tense. Pupils to keep adding to their vocabulary and grammar books on the ipads. The Perfect Tense needs to be introduced and developed. Use studio 2 rouge to help practise the perfect tense. Studio 2 vert focuses at this stage on er verbs in the perfect tense while studio 2 rouge includes irregular verbs and verbs that take etre. Teachers should use their judgement and understanding of their teaching group when teaching the perfect tense in this module. Focus should be on the mastering the Perfect tense. Homework should include: Assignments from studio, vocabulary learning + longer chunks of writing. The verb section of Vocab express can be used to practise the perfect tense. Assessments; Studio 2 Module 2 Perfect tense test at some point (mfl office) Pupils will be able to talk and write about Paris and what there is to do there. This may provide them with the opportunity to talk/write about where they live and what there is to do there. They should be able to use the perfect tense to talk about what they have done recently. (Three tenses practice) Focus on the Perfect Tense (verbs that take être are now introduced properly) and learn key irregular verbs. The near future tense. Pupils to start using present, past and future confidently. Studio Grammaire: pages ICT Resources: ipads : The focus should be on developing confidence with the perfect tense and being able to write and speak using the present, past and future. Focus should be on the understanding and mastering of the perfect tense. pieces of writing. Try to encourage pupils to use present, past and future tenses. Assessments; Listening/reading/writing. Digital books give lots of scope for revision of listening, reading and writing.

Focus on modal verbs and bring in a present, past and near future. This is a fun way to end the academic year and the topic of a talent competition offers a wide range of activities. chunks of writing. This unit can be used to revise descriptions and to practise the present, past and near future tenses.
