2 The gateway to Europe P P P P The Port of Larvik, located between the main trunk road the E1 and the sea, is an important hub connecting maritime transport and road haulage. Close to 0,000 TEU s are shipped through the Port of Larvik each year, making it Norway s second container port. We have one of Europe s most modern and effective ferry terminal. Last year the Port of Larvik had a turnover of NOK 5 million and a throughput of close to two million tonnes. Port cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 10 tonnes.

All in all 50,000 tonnes of containerized general cargo went through the port during 010. With a tripling of the container share in the Oslo Fjord area over the last 10 years, The Port of Larvik has marked itself as a solid, modern and preferred port facility. Color Line established itself at Revet in 00 to run the ferry line between Larvik and Hirtshals, deploying the new ferry Superspeed, which reprents new transport solutions when it comes to size, speed and comfort. The line is a resounding success for Color Line. The terminal is among Europes most modern and effective and has a total terminal area approaching 0 acres. The facilities handles passengers, cars, trucks and general cargo The port is in the middle of an expansive period as phase one in the development of a new container port was completed in the autumn of 010. The filling of a new 0,000 square metres area with a new seafront and a new container/multiship quayside was opened. A magnificent green area of 1 acres at Revet with seating and a path along the River Lågen has also been completed. In a recently adopted NOK 70.0 million plan to renovate and further develop the container port imply investments in the container terminal, bulk handling areas, roads and infrastructure. 4 P P P P Rocks and general cargo Larvikitt, which is quarried several places in the District of Larvik, is used for façade cladding, furniture as well as monuments both domestically and abroad. The rock is exported as raw material. Further treatment and processing is mainly done in Italy an in the Far East. Blocks of stones are exported in containers at Revet and in bulk at Kanalkaia. The by-product, Storstein also called waste rock is exported in barges for use in erosion control and the construction of breakwater and other uses. Annual stone export is approaching 1 million tonnes. Kanalkaia The terminal at Kanalkaia is the oldest in the port and is used for a variety of bulk commodities and general cargo, not least the export of bloc rocks. Annual exports of the terminal are approaching 100,000 tonnes. The terminal is also used to handle raw material for Felleskjøpet, offshore installations, wood, iron and steel. New general cargo terminal In 00 Nor Lines moved into a new and modern terminal at Kanalen. Nor Lines operates a liner service along the Norwegian coast, Scandinavia and the Baltics. Annual cargo volumes are expected from 50,000 to 100,000 tonnes. Buildings: Covered storage space of,070 square metres Cranes: Gantry cranes with 3 tonnes and 50 tonnes lifting capacitie Area: 9 acres Marinas With 10 kilometres coastline, rocks and a good climate the District of Larvik can offer perfect opportunities for experiences during the summer months. Five guest marinas welcome the many boat tourists, who each year come by sea to enjoy sunny weather at Brunlanes and at Tjølling. The summer town of Stavern is especially popular. Its marina has close to 900 fixed berth and accommodate another 150 guests boats with all facilities. But the whole district offers a diversity of activities and experiences. The Port of Larvik has on offer fixed berths for annual hire and guest berths on a day-to-day basis.
