You may not begin your campaign prior to May 9 th, whether online, in or outside of school. No exceptions.
2 Campaigning Rules and Additional Information 1. Campaigning will take place from Monday, May 9 th through Friday, May 2oth. You should be campaigning throughout this time and this time only. HOWEVER, that does not excuse you from being late to or missing any classes. 2. All posters and flyers must be approved and signed by Ms. D Zio/Ms. Brinkerhoff OR the appropriate class advisor prior to Monday May 9th. All flyers hung in individual classrooms must have the approval of the teacher in that room. You are allowed to have ONE large poster (5 feet by 3 feet max) which will be hung in the Commons. This poster is due to Ms. Brinkerhoff (D209) by Friday May 6 th so that the custodians can hang the poster, if you want it up on Monday. The limit to the number of flyers posted around the school is set at 50. Flyers may not be hung on bridges, mirrors, or in stairwells. 3. Voting will take place online from Monday, May 16 th to Friday, May 20 th and the winners will be announced at the end of the day on Friday May 20 th. 4. You are allowed a 15 second time slot to make an announcement during homeroom. You must sign up in the main office. There will be a sign up sheet on the counter. This is optional, but encouraged. 5. Class assemblies and speeches will take place on Monday, May 16 Wednesday, May 18 th at 10:35 am. One grade level per day, schedule TBD-most likely Freshmen on Mon. 5/16, Sophomores on Tues. 5/17 and Juniors on Wed. 5/18, during which you are allowed to make a 1-2 minute speech. ALL speeches must be approved by Ms. D Zio/Ms. Brinkerhoff or appropriate class advisor by Friday May 13th. If you are running unopposed, you will ONLY be introduced, and NOT make a speech, sorry, but congrats! 6. We also encourage you to make yourself available to your classmates during lunch after your assembly should they have any further questions and/or you would like to earn those votes! 7. Distribution of campaign materials shall not interfere with any classes unless permission is granted by the teacher.
3 8. Candidates are responsible for the removal of their posters/flyers by 3:00 PM on Friday, May 20 th. 9. Every candidate must submit a proposal and a pledge sheet for their entire campaign by Friday, May 6 th. It will be reviewed by the current Exec Board Advisors and Administration. 10. In order to ensure an equitable opportunity for all participants there is a set limit for each campaign budget at $ This is of course OPTIONAL, not required, or even suggested. It is expected that all campaign material, speeches, posters, and flyers be created and designed by the candidate himself or herself. 11. Failure to abide by these rules will result in your removal from campaigning.

5 Pledge Sheet Description of an Officer in Randolph High School Student Government: An officer in the Randolph High School Student Government is a strong student leader. He/She is a representative of the student body, one who idealizes the success of the school s goals as well as his/her own and is prepared to lead the student body in pursuit of those goals. As the voice for the student body or his/her individual class, he/she is prepared to represent and work for the ideas of his/her fellow students. As a mature, enthusiastic leader he/she serves as a role model for his/her fellow students and for Randolph High School at all times.
