1 LEARN. CONNECT. EXPERIENCE. Brand Guidelines External Use FOR MEMBERS, CHAPTERS, SPONSORS, EXHIBITORS, PRESENTERS
2 Purpose The purpose of this document is to serve as a guide for all Association of Energy Services Professionals partners members, chapters, sponsors, exhibitors, presenters, trainers, etc. on the permitted use of AESP s name and logo for your marketing and communications purposes. In the instances where using the AESP logo and name is permissible, AESP s brand guidelines must be followed, which are explained in this document. All communications associated with AESP must enforce the AESP brand identity, through the consistent use of AESP s name and logo AESP s description, mission and activities Imagery Typeface
3 Use of Logo and Name AESP s registered word mark and logo, including Association of Energy Services Professionals may not be used or reproduced without written permission. Any individual, organization, or company wishing to use AESP s logos and trademarks must obtain the right to do so in writing. In general, AESP permits the use of its logo and name when the context of the relationship is very clearly written out i.e. is a member of AESP, a chapter of AESP, Host Sponsor of AESP s National Conference, etc. For all other purposes, please contact suzanne@aesp.org for permission to use AESP s name and/or logo.
4 Some Examples Permitted use of AESP name and/or logo Including AESP in your signature or professional profile is allowed if you are a current member, provided it is accompanied by Member of the Association of Energy Services Professionals. Promoting the fact that you are an exhibitor or sponsor of a current AESP conference i.e..is proud to be the Breakfast Sponsor at AESP s Spring Conference or.will be exhibiting at AESP s conference. Not Permitted AESP name, AESP conference name or logo appearing alone in in any materials without a statement explaining the relationship with AESP. Any implied endorsement from AESP for any message, product, event or cause even where a relationship exists with AESP i.e. Join us and AESP at OR AESP and insert company name invites you to join us at
5 AESP Mission Founded in 1989 as a not-for-profit association, AESP is a member-based association dedicated to improving the delivery and implementation of energy efficiency, energy management and distributed renewable resources. AESP provides professional development programs, a network of energy practitioners, and promotes the transfer of knowledge and experience. AESP is a member-driven organization that provides: Professional Development and Topic Committees with the industry leaders sharing thoughts, expertise and opportunities, addressing some of the industry s most pressing issues today Tools and Information dedicated to advancing best practices from service concept through delivery resulting in increased service efficiency and effectiveness National Conferences, Brown Bag Webinars, Education, Training and Professional Papers for all levels of experience providing tangible, actionable information helping everyone do their jobs more effectively Networking to identify potential opportunities and partnerships
6 Association Description AESP provides professional development programs, a network of energy practitioners, and promotes the transfer of knowledge and experience. Our members work in the energy services industry and represent electric and natural gas utilities, public benefits associations, regulatory and nonprofit entities, vendors, manufacturers and consulting firms.
7 Color Palette & Typography Typeface The primary typeface is Tahoma but other fonts such as Lucida Sans are used. This font family offers a variety of weights. Preferred Colors The primary color palette is green, blue and gold (see details on right). GREEN PMS 349 RGB: R/0, G/107, B/63 WEB #00693E BLUE PMS 286 RGB: R/0, G/56, B/168 WEB #0039A6 GOLD PMS 143 RGB: R/239, G/178, B/45 WEB #F2AF32
8 Logo Use FULL COLOR Logo Rules Must appear in entirety To protect the logo s legibility, a clear area should be left around it equivalent to the width of the letter P in AESP. No other text or image should be placed within this area. Do not place on complex backgrounds where the typeface becomes lost. The logo should be no smaller than 3/4 inches in width. Never change the location of the approved colors within the logo elements. Against a black or dark background, the logo should appear in reverse white SINGLE COLOR
9 Sub-Brand Logos AESP Institute Logo Used only for training purposes AESP Chapter/Topic Committee Logo Available for use by only officially sanctioned individual AESP chapters or topic committees, per approval of AESP national. Only editable element is the blue bar where the chapter or topic committee name is located. EXAMPLE OF AESP CHAPTER LOGO
10 Imagery The brand imagery should be simple, bright and not overly busy. The imagery should reflect the diversity of the energy efficiency industry (e.g. gas and electric, environment, sustainability, renewable, smart grid, load control, etc) in a positive light. Images should present the progressive aspects of the industry (e.g. LED or CFL instead of incandescent bulbs, solar or wind power instead of nuclear or coal). People images should reflect our professional-level members and present diversity in age, ethnicity and gender.
11 Co-Branding Guidelines Rules All co-branding must always be approved by AESP in writing (see contact information at end. No separate identity is allowed. All must follow the established branding standard. The logo must always appear in entirety, without any modification. External Organizations may not incorporate the AESP logo identity into their identity. When utilized in marketing and communications materials, the graphic identities of each organization must be distinct from each other. Any text reference to the Association of Energy Services Professionals must be spelled out on first reference. AESP is acceptable on second and subsequent references. When printing marketing materials in full color, always use the Full Color logo in the approved colors.
