ABE Classes are $25/quarter. (Low-income fee waivers are available.) Students may enroll through the 35th day of the quarter. New students need to complete intake forms and a CASAS appraisal. No appointment is required for the intake process. Emphasis will include functions of business, management, types of business ownership, human resources, production, marketing, ethics, and the role of accounting. This class is offered via interactive video with the Centralia campus. Business Math o BUS 121RT4 (5) 10:30-11:50am TTh MOR 110 Rabe O Surveys the commercial application of mathematics designed to assess and analyze business activities and their effect on cost, profitability and overall performance. Prerequisite: MATH 096 or equivalent test score. This class is offered via interactive video with the Centralia campus. BUSINESS OFFICE TECHNOLOGY Keyboard Skillbuilding I o 1071 BTEC 102R (3) ARR TTh MOR 112 Cantin Individualized skillbuilding program for increasing keyboarding speed and improving accuracy. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to type at a minimum of 35wpm with no more than one error per minute. Prerequisite: BTEC 101 and typing at 35wpm or instructor permission. Arranged BTEC classes meet in the computer lab between 10:30am and 6pm. Section R is a six week class meets 7/5-8/12. Work Experience Seminar o 1077 BTEC 191R (1) ARR TTh MOR 112 Cantin Topics include professional image, business etiquette, sexual harassment, resolving conflict, and diversity in the workplace. Must be taken prior to or concurrently with Cooperative Work Experience. Section R is a six week class, meets 7/5-8/12. Word I o 1079 BTEC 210R (5) ARR TTh MOR 112 Cantin Class covers Word in depth: document preparation, formatting, graphics, WordArt, columns, sorts, charts, mail merge, and styles. Students will format business documents to business standards. Prerequisite: keyboard skill of 35wpm or instructor permission. Arranged BTEC classes meet in the computer lab between 10:30am and 6pm. Excel o 1081 BTEC 214R (5) ARR TTh MOR 112 Cantin A hands-on approach for beginning through intermediate level applications of Excel spreadsheet using a variety of business applications. Word II o 1082 BTEC 219R (4) ARR TTh MOR 112 Cantin Course covers footnotes, endnotes, citations, bibliographies, table of contents, indexes, linked textboxes, multilevel lists, building blocks, fill-in forms, macros, outlines, Quick Parts, templates formal reports. Microsoft Office-PowerPoint Module o 1083 BTEC 222R (1) ARR TTh MOR 112 Cantin An introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint. Upon completion of this course students should have beginning knowledge of a presentation program. Prerequisite: keyboard speed of 35wpm, Windows Workstations OS or instructor permission. COOPERATIVE WORK EXPERIENCE Cooperative Work Experience o 1117 COOP 190R (1-12) ARR ARR MOR Barnes Cooperative Work Experience allows students to apply classroom learning to on-the-job settings. Credit is earned for new and continued learning taking place in the work environment. Reaching set learning objectives and development of positive work habits are emphasized. Instructor s permission is required. Corequisite: Enrollment in a Work Experience Seminar is required of Co-op students. You may take the Work Experience Seminar before or in the same quarter as the Co-op course. DRAMA Applied Drama o 1120 DRMA 100S (3) 6:30-9pm MTWTh MOR 101 Olmos Provides credit for participation in either the artistic or technical aspects of the college s quarterly play productions of "Beauty and the Beast." This course may be repeated for credit. Dramatic Performance (H) o 1122 DRMA 115S (5) 6:30-9pm MTWTh MOR 101 Olmos For students involved in the creative/performance aspects of a play production, from audition through research/preparation for their portrayal and evaluation of their performance. The student must successfully audition and be cast in a college production. Prerequisite: audition selection for quarterly play production of "Beauty and the Beast." ENGLISH Spelling o 1136 ENGL 094S (1-5) 2:30-5:30pm MW MOR 108 Nellis Topics covered in this course include basic spelling patterns, commonly confused words, apostrophe use, capitalization, plural formation, and how pronunciation helps to improve spelling. Students utilize materials according to pretesting information. SE Vocabulary Development II o 1137 ENGL 096S (1-5) 2:30-5:30pm MW MOR 108 Nellis Builds a base of words used in everyday communication, provides systematic study, increases proficiency in oral and written communication and reading comprehension. Students are given a placement test and assigned materials at an appropriate level. Writing & Grammar Review o 1140 ENGL 098S (1-5) 2:30-5:30pm MW MOR 108 Nellis Study proper word usage, sentence structure, and punctuation. Writing includes personal essays and summaries. Emphasis is on improving grammar and writing skills for personal needs and preparation for technical coursework. Prerequisite: students must meet mandatory placement requirements to enroll. Students analyze texts, review sentence structure and punctuation, and write several short essays and other writing. Students must meet mandatory placement requirements to enroll. GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS Introduction to GIS o GIS 101R3 (5) 10am-12pm F MOR 112 Lund Introduction to map creation and basic spatial analysis techniques using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software and methods. Students apply GIS fundamentals to the fields of environmental science, urban planning, social science, business, and public health. Prerequisite: CNT 117 or equivalent skills recommended. Analysis and visualization techniques will be developed using ArcGIS Extensions (3D Analyst, Network Analyst), vector and raster data models, and three dimensional surfaces in urban space. Pre-Algebra o MATH 096R4 (1-5) 8-10:30am MWTh MOR 101 Callison Covers percents, proportions, unit conversions, geometry, simplifying algebraic expressions and solving simple first degree linear equations. Prerequisite: MATH 095 or appropriate test score placement.

3 SE Algebra I o MATH 098R4 (1-5) 8-10:30am MWTh MOR 101 Callison For students with good arithmetic skills and familiarity with signed numbers and basic algebraic expressions. Problemsolving skills are emphasized. Topics include: linear equations and inequalities, graphing, polynomials, and rational expressions. Prerequisite: MATH 096. Algebra II o MATH 099R4 (1-5) 8-10:30am MWTh MOR 101 Callison Introduces the concept of functions, their graphs and properties. Particular attention will be paid to linear, quadratic, exponential and logarithmic functions. Prerequisite: MATH 098 or equivalent. MUSIC Performance Ensemble I o 1223 MUSC 244S (1) 6:30-9pm MTWTh MOR 101 Nelson An ensemble is for the advanced performer (Instrumentalists or Vocalists). Music reading is imperative. Will perform many styles of music. By audition ONLY for "Beauty and the Beast." Musical Theatre Production I (H) o 1224 MUSC 250S (5) 6:30-9pm MTWTh MOR 101 Sturgeon Designed to introduce the student to all the elements of musical theatre through the summer production of "Beauty and the Beast." The student will study the audition process, the effect of musical choreography, the historical setting of the work chosen, musical score and dialogue. Vocal Ensemble I o 1225 MUSC 254S (2) 6:30-9pm MTWTh MOR 101 Sturgeon A small vocal ensemble that prepares and performs chamber works, and contemporary vocal literature. Placement is by audition only in the summer production of "Beauty and the Beast." Designed to develop cardciovascular endurance, flexibility and body composition through outdoor activities -hiking, the Cispus Challenge Course, and kayaking. Must be able to hike a minimum of 5 miles on uneven terrain and be prepared for all types of weather. Lab fee $ Students must attend a one-hour orientation. An orientation is being held at CCEast in Morton on 7/5 at 5pm, and in Centralia on the main campus on 7/6 at 5pm. The class meets 7/8, 7/22, and 8/12. Kayak rental is not included in the fees. READING Improvement of Reading o 1248 READ 099S (1-5) 2:30-5:30pm MW MOR 108 Nellis Students strengthen thinking, reading comprehension, and vocabulary skills in learning to read and study textbooks, writing summaries, note taking, and test taking. Completion of course satisfies the basic skill deficiency in reading. SE SMALL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT Microsoft Excel-Brief o 1255 SMGT 120R (2) 1-3pm T MOR 112 Cantin Courseware incorporates an accelerated, step-by-step, projectbased approach, students develop an introductory level competency in Excel learning to create, edit, format, calculate and add special features to spreadsheets.
