3 TRAINING FOR THE HEALTH AND COMMUNITY services sector Health Training Australia (HTA) was established by the Australian Medical Association (WA) in the 1990s to develop and deliver employment and training services for the health and community services sector. HTA is a Registered Training Organisation and provides nationally recognised training in accordance with the Australian Quality Training Framework in a number of areas and in particular for: > Aged care workers > Home and community carers > Disability services workers > Health support workers in hospitals and aged care facilities. High quality training courses are offered on a fee for service basis or under a Traineeship arrangement. Courses have been developed to meet the needs of industry and are delivered by trainers who have appropriate backgrounds and experience. Services provided include: > Delivery of nationally recognised training to Australian Quality Training Framework standards > Quality and reputable training services that are endorsed by the Training Accreditation Council > Comprehensive support and mentoring throughout the training period > Delivery of industry developed training packages by skilled trainers > Flexible training tailored to meet the needs of employers > Added value to current training initiatives > Delivery of training under a Traineeship arrangement Training courses vary from short industry specific courses to comprehensive training of up to two or three years in duration. 7 Learning guides and assessment resources In addition to delivering training directly by our staff, Health Training Australia in conjunction with the Australian Medical Association (WA), has developed a range of comprehensive learning resources in an easy to follow format for use in either self directed or classroom learning. Assessment tools include fully mapped assessments with oral questioning (and answers) plus solutions to written activities.
