Oversight and guidance for the successful grant awards of $2,914,413 from Health Resources and Services Administration within the School of Allied Health Sciences. Representative of the SOAHS on institutional committees such as the TTUHSC Space Utilization and Planning Committee. Serve as the SACS representative for the SOAHS including developing guidelines and direction for SACS reaffirmation for the TTUHSC. The program is designed to provide healthcare management education to traditional clinicians. The program has 4 faculty/staff and serves approximately 50 students. Faculty appraisals and review of instructional effectiveness. Student advising and evaluation of overall academic performance of students. Developing a marketing plan for recruitment of students. TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY HEALTH SCIENCES CENTER, Odessa, Texas Regional Dean, School of Allied Health Sciences, Permian Basin Assistant Professor, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, School of Allied Health Sciences January 1999 May 2005 Regional executive leader for the operations and budget of the Permian Basin regional campuses of the School of Allied Health Sciences. The campuses consisted of programs in Physical Therapy (MPT), Rehabilitation Sciences (MSRS - Online Program), Occupational Therapy (MOT), and Physician Assistant Studies (MSPA). The Regional Campus operated on a budget of approximately $1.4 million and employed 17 faculty/staff including two Program Directors and a Regional Program Director. The combined enrollment of the Regional Campus was approximately 200 students. Administrative, operational, and budgetary oversight. Involvement with the ongoing assessment and improvement processes involved in delivering education, program accreditation, and SACS accreditation at the regional site. Working independently as well as collaboratively with Institutional Advancement and external stakeholders to solicit funds for scholarships, research, and operations. More than $250,000 raised. Instructing business related courses for multiple different programs including: Master of Physician Assistant Studies, Master of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Science in Clinical Support Services Management, and Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Services Management. Working collaboratively with Regional Deans for School of Medicine and School of Nursing in campus planning and operation. Oversight of $1.2 million building renovation for School of Allied Health Sciences operations.

PARKVIEW REGIONAL HOSPITAL, Mexia, Texas Chief Executive Officer May 1998 January 1999 Executive leader for all operations of a 44-bed acute care hospital and outpatient clinic. The hospital has an active staff of ten physicians and several mid-level providers. The hospital provides a number of services including medical, surgical, diagnostic, radiological, obstetric, home health, rehabilitation, and emergency services to an area of four counties representing approximately 40,000 people. The hospital is fully accredited by JCAHO. The facility generates approximately $35 million gross revenue annually and employs approximately 170 people. Responsibilities include: Executive manager and leader for all hospital operations. Physician recruitment and relations. Presenting monthly operating report to board of directors. Presenting monthly operating report to corporate headquarters. Developing strategic plans for hospital growth as well as plant additions. Directing and preparing board of directors through education and planning. W.J. MANGOLD MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AND COGDELL CLINIC, Lockney, Texas Administrator/Chief Executive Officer April May 1998 Executive leader for all operations of a 27-bed acute care hospital and outpatient clinic. The hospital has an active medical staff of four physicians and provides medical, surgical, obstetric, and emergency care to seven rural counties. The hospital employs eighty people and generates approximately $3.2 million gross revenue annually. The outpatient clinic supports approximately 20,000 visits annually. Negotiating managed care contracts for the hospital and physicians. Presenting monthly administrative/financial reports to the board of directors. Completion of a $1.5 million construction project. Successfully acquired Level IV Trauma designation for hospital. Successfully recruited family practice medical staff. Identified and implemented a new hospital/clinic computer operating system. Created an inpatient/outpatient physical therapy department. Converted in-house pharmacy from contracted to self-maintained. Hospital district reduced tax rate by 16.7% during administration. W.J.
