6 INNOVATION AND COMMERCIAL RESEARCH EVENTS INNOVATION AND COMMERCIAL RESEARCH EVENTS Crowdfunding - 6:00pm, Wednesday 30th October eclub meeting From idea to business 5.30pm to 8pm, 22nd October SMART INFRASTRUCTURE, Building 6, UOW Main Campus Glenn Farrant, Co-Founder of CriticalArc our own home grown Gong Startup and StartPad resident will be telling us about their journey from idea to business. He ll discuss how they went from being two engineers with a great idea and limited commercial experience to creating a viable business using the Customer Development process. The success they have achieved in customer conversion and securing funding from both Angel investment and government sources. Lecture Theatre 2 Sydney Business School, Level 8, 1 Macquarie Place (Gateway Building) Circular Quay, 2000 Sydney Our third meeting at SBS will focus on crowdfunding, a new way to raise money to finance projects and ventures. The different speakers will talk about the different options available in Australia with a strong focus on the Australian crowdfunding platform Pozible, sharing their experience on how it works, how to run a successful campaign and what are the mistakes to avoid.
