1 Innovations Award th, 1st and 2nd October South Wales (set up on the 30th September) 21st 22nd 23rd October North Wales (set up on the 21st October) This prestigious event is a showcase exhibition and competition for the most innovative project work at and in Design & Technology. The exhibition will be held in the autumn term in both north and south Wales. The purpose of the event is to encourage young people to be technologically innovative and appreciate the importance of both design and technology. This is vital to Wales future prosperity as set out in the Welsh Assembly Government s Science Policy. The exhibition will give industrialists, teachers and students the opportunity to see some of the best work of students aged 16 to 18 in Wales. All centres in Wales entering students' for WJEC examinations in Design and Technology are automatically eligible. Visiting moderators and teachers will nominate projects for inclusion in the exhibition. The event will showcase 80 of students most innovative A2, AS and projects. A team of distinguished judges will select winning A level, AS Level and projects and choose an overall winner from all three categories. There will also be a prize for the project displaying the most potential for Intellectual Property protection, a prize for CAD/CAM and a prize for the project displaying the greatest creativity. will also be able to attend short talks on important aspects of their courses and at see marked past paper questions. Schools and colleges are invited to bring students from years 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 only, to view the exhibition and attend the talks. 5 North-Wales- Bangor Event Bangor University The one and a half day exhibition will be set up on the Sunday the 21 st October The exhibition will include the prize winners and, AS, A level projects (TOTAL 60). We will also leave the exhibition up for the morning only. There are to be no scheduled events on this day. This will be a one day event, the morning schedule to be repeated for the afternoon.
