7 5 Lynley Kontze Office Manager, FD Builders & Joiners Ltd Certificate in Business Administration and Computing (Level 3 and 4) graduate In the office environment you need to be efficient, have good time management skills, and be prepared to learn new skills when needed. I was returning to work after 15 years of raising my children, and needed to upskill my computer and business skills. Unitec was a friendly and inviting environment to learn in and I found the lecturers particularly informative and very helpful. I enjoyed the achievement of completing the assignments and attaining a good pass rate after being away from the school environment for some 25 years.

8 6 Sarah Wallis Sales Coordinator, The Amora Hotel Auckland Certificate in Business Administration and Computing (Level 3) graduate I chose this programme to broaden my administration skills, develop sales and marketing knowledge, and learn how to communicate to a large audience. I really enjoyed meeting and getting to know all the great people in my programme and making good friends along the way. The knowledge and support from the tutors was fantastic too. They take the time to make sure you completely understand the task and stay with you until you get it right. For my current job and all previous jobs, the course has been a life saver! I ve already put into practice most of the skills I learnt and the qualification is an excellent eye-catcher on your CV. I love the fact that I am always dealing with clients and interacting with people, whether it is showing them our premises or coordinating their conference. It can be very busy, so prioritisation and organisation are key. Dealing with clients is teaching me to think on my feet! I m proud of getting into the corporate world at my age as it s pretty tough out there. The hospitality industry is definitely where I belong and conferencing and events is what interests me the most so we ll see where it takes me.
