Please see page 5 for the recommended minimum specifications. 2 Bachelor of BUSINESS Level 7 MN4136 Method of study Qualification Duration Start dates Full-time/Part-time MIT Degree Three years (full-time) February and July Credits 360 Cost (2014 Fees) $5500 (approx) per year About the Programme A graduate of the Bachelor of Business will have the ability to succeed in business, having developed generic business skills, personal attributes and abilities, pursuit of further education, and discipline specific competencies. The graduate skills will reflect economic, political, legal, cultural, technological, social and natural environmental factors that influence business practice nationally and globally. The programme comprises 24 courses of 15 credits and taken full time over three years or part time up to six years, or longer by arrangement with the programme committee. In planning your degree, remember that not all courses are available each semester so it is important to plan ahead. Consult the programme timetable carefully. You must check the programme structure, pre-requisites and availability of your chosen courses in advance. The Programme Leader will approve your chosen course of study. To graduate with the Bachelor of Business you must complete: Eight compulsory courses at level 5 One compulsory courses at level 6 One compulsory course at level 7 Plus 14 courses Total 120 credits 15 credits 15 credits 210 credits 360 credits ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Enrolments for this programme will only be accepted from students who are currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Business (MN4136). Course Codes The fourth digit in a course code indicates the level: xxx.5xx is a level 5 course xxx.6xx is a level 6 course xxx.7xx is a level 7 course 2

No more than one course can be at level 5. Courses may be selected from the Bachelor of Business or other MIT degree programmes Commercial Law Management Introduction to Marketing Economics Business Computing LevelS 6 And 7 45 credits (All these courses) Business Environment (not offered 2014)* Integrated Business Workplace Accounting Project ACCOUNTING CORE 135 credits (select Nine Courses, Out of which three must be from Level 7) Intermediate Financial Accounting Intermediate Management Accounting Taxation in NZ Introduction to Finance Auditing and Assurance The Law of Business Entities Accounting Information Systems Advanced Auditing and Assurance (not offered 2014) Advanced Taxation Advanced Financial Reporting Advanced Management Accounting Governance and Ethics (not offered 2014) Finance Law * Please see your programme leader if you have not passed this course. 4

To find out whether your courses run a common test, check in the course outline you will receive in the first week of your course. It is essential that you are available. Windows XP is not supported. These are available from the Academic Registry Office, J101, South Campus or manukau.ac.nz. An administration fee of $15.00 (GST inclusive) for the first copy, and $5.00 for each subsequent copy requested at the same time is payable. STUDYLINK - EFTS IN RELATION TO YOUR STUDENT LOAN As a guideline: To be considered as a full time student by Studylink a student enrolled into programmes in this enrolment guide requires: A minimum of seven 15 credit courses, enrolled in one calendar year Please note a full time student would usually enrol in 4 courses each semester To be considered as a part time student by Studylink a student enrolled into programmes in this enrolment guide requires: A minimum of two 15 credit courses, enrolled in one calendar year To be considered for a student loan by Studylink (subject to any other Studylink eligibility requirements) a student must be enrolled in at least enough courses to satisfy the part-time eligibility requirements above. Studylink require you to be enrolled in a certain value of EFTS. EFTS stands for Equivalent Full-time Student. It measures the amount of study or workload involved in a course and is used to calculate if you are studying full-time or part-time. Please refer to T3 timetable to calculate the total number of EFTS you are enrolled in. To confirm your eligibility for Student Loan and Allowances we recommend that you consult Studylink, visit or call them on NOTE: Every effort is made to ensure that this Enrolment Guide is correct at the time of printing.
