18 <tftp server IP> is the URL r IP address f the TFTP server cntaining the firmware. <path> is the path f the file relative t the TFTP server rt. <filename> is the file name f the image file (in this example, LdrImage.bin). Fr example, enter lad -surce // /LdrImage.bin -emhpfiletype csr. Fr Linux CLP lad cmmand firmware updates, yu must place the image file in the tftpbt flder, which is lcated in the TFTP servers rt directry. The TFTP applicatin might reprt an errr in the early part f the firmware uplad prcess, during the firmware image validatin prcess. An errr des nt necessarily indicate failure f the firmware uplad and des nt prevent successful firmware uplads. A successful firmware uplad typically takes several minutes. After the firmware upgrade prcess is cmplete, verify that the new versin f the firmware is active. If the firmware upgrade prcess fails after sufficient time (at least 5 minutes), rebt the server, and verify that the previus versin f the firmware is still active. Always rebt the server befre retrying the firmware upgrade prcess. After installing the firmware, the IP address f the server might reset t the default value. Yu must lcally reset the IP address t the desired address. NOTE: After using the lad cmmand LO100 will reset ending yur CLP interface sessin. Yu must recnnect t the CLP interface. NOTE: When yu use the CLP lad cmmand with TFTPD32, HP recmmends using a 4- secnd timeut and 10 retries. Cnfiguratin 18

Yu cannt have mre than tw simultaneus SSH cnnectins and up t three (telnet and SSH) cnnectins at a time. The general syntax f CLP cmmand is: <verb> <target> <ptin> <prperty> Verbs The fllwing verbs are supprted: cd help lad reset set shw start stp exit versin Target The default target is the /. The target can be changed by the cd cmmand r by specifying a target n the cmmand line. Optins The fllwing ptins are valid: -help/-h -all/-a Prperties are the attributes f the target that can be mdified. Output The utput syntax is text. The valid Blean values fr any cmmand are true and false. General ntes If the cmmands n the CLP cmmand span mre than ne line, yu cannt navigate between different lines. Operating system-specific ntes The Micrsft Windws 2000 telnet client des nt supprt the Functins keys F1 thrugh F12, Insert, Hme, and End keys. These keys will nt wrk in a Lights-Out 100 cmmand line sessin. The Backspace key in the Lights-Out 100 CLP implementatin is mapped t the value 0x8. Sme client perating systems, Nvell Linux Desktp and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Desktp, map the Backspace key t the value 0x7f, which is used fr the Delete key in the Windws telnet client. The Backspace key will nt wrk frm a client frm which it has value f 0x7f. Fr the Linux clients, using the Hme r the End key enables the Lights-Out 100 CLP service t remap the Backspace key t use the value 0x7f, making the key functinal. In the Windws PuTTY client, the Backspace key can be mapped t a value f 0x8 by changing the setting fr Terminal Keybard t Cntrl-H. Using LO100 21

22 Base cmmands The help cmmand displays cntext-sensitive help. Entering help displays all the supprted cmmands. Entering <cmmand help/?> displays the help message specific t that cmmand. Help fr verbs Calling help fr a verb returns the general syntax and usage assciated with issuing that verb. Calling help fr a verb that is nt present in the current directry returns an Unsupprted Cmmand message. The fllwing examples are all valid ways t call help fr a verb. /./-> help shw Usage: shw [<target>][<ptins>][<prperties>] /./-> shw -h Usage: shw [<target>][<ptins>][<prperties>] /./-> shw -help Usage: shw [<target>][<ptins>][<prperties>] /./-> Help fr targets Calling help fr a target returns any infrmatin abut the target and what it cntains.
