21 The Challenges SKIDATA is in a transformation from a segment-focused product vendor into a solution provider servicing a worldwide market with hosted applications delivering services for ticketing and access control This transformation implies changes in technology and product portfolio changing the service and support organization changing the way how business is done (from capex to opex, subscription or transaction fees) The consequences and challenges impact the entire company product development (build for always on - no ctrl-alt-del, 24x7) supply chain and delivery (call center, follow the sun, deliver next day, etc.) finance and administration (revenue recognition, tax implications, salary and bonus structure,...)
