5th Annual Taco Festival of Innovation
Introduction Moveable Feast is proud to present the third annual San Jose Taco Festival of Innovation on Saturday, May 24th, 2014. The inaugural San Jose Taco Festival packed History Park on April 14th, 2012 with a sold out crowd of approximately 5,000 attendees. Law enforcement officials estimate that at least 800 people were turned away at the gate. We expect to draw over 7,500 people from all over the Bay Area this year. The festival is presented by Moveable Feast, an event production company that has produced such landmark culinary events such as San Jose Eats (10,000 attendance), Night Market (8,000 attendance), and Moveable Feast: San Mateo (6,000 attendance). Coproducing this year s event is Filco Events. We offer corporate sponsorship opportunities for a community event that combines the red hot trend of gourmet food trucks with the innovative spirit of Silicon Valley that will attract thousands of local residents and visitors. This is your chance to increase audience exposure and reach the target market you want. The San Jose Taco Festival offers companies large and small the opportunity to reach out and broadcast their message. This sponsorship opportunity provides a corporate entity with publicity, advertising, social media, and prominent product exposure to thousands of festival attendees. We have several options available and look forward to working with you.
About the Festival The feast day will be filled with tastings, art, and performances. We will have a curated selection of 35+ of the best food trucks from all over the Bay Area serving their best rendition of a taco. All plates will be $5 or less. Short rib tacos, nacho tacos, Vietnamese shrimp tacos, and even ice cream tacos is just a sample of the day s menu. Tacos in the competition will be voted on by attendees. Finalists will be judged by a celebrity panel and prizes will be awarded based on quality and presentation. While food is the main attraction, various entertainment options will be provided for the crowd. A music program entitled, Concert in the Park, will be placed with various live musical acts throughout the day. There will be a kids area near the stables with pinatas, balloon artists, and face painters. Luche Libre (Mexican-style masked wrestling) with full wrestling ring will also occur throughout the festival. A selection of approximately 20 art, jewelry, clothing vendors and community partners will also have a presence at the event. The taco festival will also play host to the third annual US Air Accordion Championship (USAAC) competition.
Demographics TARGET ADUIENCE AGE 25-34 35-44 PEOPLE EXCPECTED 7,500+ INCOME $100,000 AVERAGE The majority of San Jose Taco Festival patrons would be categorized as food aficionados or foodies. Our event is also expected to appeal to a vast group of people of all ages, ethnicities, and educational backgrounds who love tacos. Taco festival patrons are upwardly mobile, informed with social media, and well-educated consumers who don t mind spending their money on quality branded products and services. Expected attendance will consist of at least 50% foodies. Foodies Through an analysis of Simmons Market Research Bureau s national consumer survey, Packaged Facts has estimated that 14% of US adults (approximately 31 million people) would identify themselves as foodies. Foodies are considered a desirable demographic, highly educated and technologically savvy. Since foodies value authenticity, successful marketing campaigns aimed at them are difficult to achieve using traditional techniques. Foodies are somewhat unique in that they are interested in where their food is sourced, such as growth techniques, transportation to the marketplace, cooking techniques, and the personalities of chefs. They also tend to be dual-income households with considerable disposable income. Research has shown that foodies are highly receptive to marketing of food and high tech products and services. The San Jose Taco Festival of Innovation provides an effective platform to marketing to this food-centric and technologically literate population.
