Important Note Please ensure that all the devices are configured correctly and are running the required firmware to support OpenAPI version 2.3.x 3.7.x connections. Please refer to the readme file for information on how to configure the devices for OpenAPI. Using XPR Enterprise Konica Minolta Embedded When the software has been configured and deployed to all the devices, the service listens for incoming connections. These connections are triggered as users log onto the devices requesting copy and/or print sessions. Authenticating There are two methods by which users can authenticate against the system. When the applications are registered to the devices they are configured to authenticate the user with either the Username/Password or User ID/PIN entered. These settings are system wide. The service will then test the credentials from incoming connections using the chosen authentication method. Authentication using Username/Password Figure 1 AIT Ltd 2014 Page 3 of 14
Authentication using UserID/PIN Figure 2 Entering login credentials Either the touch screen or the hard keys on the device can be used to enter a username. The user can then submit this by pressing OK. This screen is the same for the User ID/PIN authentication. Enter Username Figure 3 Once authenticated on the device, the user has the ability to photocopy and to release print jobs based on their balance and credit limit. Unlimited credit users are not restricted by a balance. AIT Ltd 2014 Page 4 of 14
Remote Authentication XPR Enterprise Konica Minolta Embedded also supports remote card reader and biometric authentication. If any of these devices are connected to the device they can be used to log the user in rather than keying login credentials from the touch screen. Self-Registration If remote card readers are being used on the devices for authentication and Self- Registration is enabled on the system, when an unknown card is presented to a card reader, the user will be prompted to associate their card with their Pcounter account.
