One cmmunity health center hsts nn-credited wrkshps fr emplyees such as Business Writing nce r twice a year. Tw health centers spnsr a few emplyees each year t participate in external training prgrams such as the Sufflk University Healthcare Management Certificate prgram r at the Mass League f Cmmunity Health Centers, which has a Health Center Management Prgram where students earn a certificate and credits tward a graduate degree at Sufflk University. One f the big teaching hspitals des have the capacity t d s thrugh training ffered within their wrkfrce develpment department. The training is nt n a large scale, but the pprtunity exists, and sessins are staggered well enugh t accmmdate thse wh are interested in later stages f their careers. Anther teaching hspital ffers prgrams fr new managers fcusing n cmmunicatin, caching and leadership skills thrugh their department f Learning and Develpment. The ideal candidate fr advancement int management excels as an individual cntributr and has successfully managed prjects and taken n increased respnsibility. This, cmbined with frmal training can make a great candidate. Frmal training alne des nt psitin smene well t advance t management, and it is unfrtunate that sme peple invest in this training withut taking int accunt the ther piece f the equatin. Health Management: Educatr Questin Fr yur existing clinical prgrams, d yu have a management cmpnent as a stackable ptin? If nt, have yu cnsidered designing curriculum t prepare fr individuals fr the next step? N, we currently dn t have such an ptin. Hwever, we wuld cnsider such an ptin given a demnstrated need by emplyers N, we d nt have a management cmpnent, but we are interested in designing curriculum. Bachelr f Science in Health Management.
