Cambridge Judge Business Schl Further particulars JOB TITLE: REPORTS TO: HEAD OF ONLINE COMMUNICATIONS HEAD OF CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING Backgrund The External Affairs Team within Cambridge Judge Business Schl (CJBS) exists t prmte the wrk, missin and visin f CJBS and t ensure that all stakehlders have a shared understanding f the achievements and aspiratins f CJBS in rder t make CJBS the business schl f chice fr students, faculty, ptential dnrs and intellectual insight. The External Affairs Team must engage with multiple audiences, ranging frm prspective and current students, alumni, dnrs and existing supprters, t the internatinal media (thereby influencing the general public), pliticians and ryalty. As CJBS is an internatinal business schl cmpeting in a glbal market then the team engages acrss multiple gegraphies. The Schl relies n incme generated thrugh student and executive fees (MBA, Executive MBA, Master f Finance and Executive Educatin) and dnatins frm fundraising. The nline envirnment is the key cmmunicatin and marketing channel fr Cambridge Judge Business Schl and an effective nline cmmunicatins strategy is essential t prmte the Schl s reputatin and develpment in a highly cmpetitive market. The rle The Head f Online Cmmunicatins reprts t the Head f Crprate Cmmunicatins and Marketing. The pst hlder will als wrk clsely with ther senir staff in the External Affairs team and acrss the Schl, and will be required t develp gd relatinships with ther central University functins in rder t raise the prfile f CJBS thrugh the develpment and executin f nline cmmunicatin strategies. The nline cmmunicatins team needs t develp excellent wrking relatinships and prvide a strng level f service t prgramme marketing managers, External Affairs clleagues and directrs. The rle-hlder is respnsible fr the nline cmmunicatins strategy and the versight f individual prgrammes, Centres' and affiliated grups' nging nline cmmunicatins requirements; prviding specialist expertise in nline cmmunicatins, design, analytics, SEO (search engine ptimisatin) and user experience. In additin, the rle hlder develps training prgrammes and rganises regular training in these areas. He/she will als prvide supprt t the Schl's senir team, prviding analytics reprts and advising n nline cmmunicatins issues. The rle hlder manages three permanent staff members in additin t matrix prject teams, temprary staff and freelancers and is respnsible fr a budget f c. 110,000 and fr a large number f significant prjects at any ne time, many f which have a wide-ranging impact acrss Cambridge Judge Business Schl and the wider University. The rle-hlder will need t be able t juggle a varied wrklad including cmplex prjects f bth a reactive and practive nature. The rle may invlve ccasinal ut-f-hurs wrk. 1

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Institutinal nline cmmunicatins strategy Develp and implement an nline cmmunicatins strategy fr the Schl t raise the Schl s prfile and help psitin the Schl as a leading research-led business Schl and t supprt marketing strategies t increase the number f high quality student applicatins and ptential dnrs. Cmmissin, design, implement and manage websites fr the Schl and affiliated Centres in accrdance with the Schl s brand strategy. Develp the visual lk and feel f the Schl s nline presence, liaising and managing the wrk f external suppliers, as required. Lead n the Schl s nline user experience, infrmatin architecture and cntent management strategy, wrking clsely with the Head f Crprate Cmmunicatins and Marketing, prgramme marketing managers and ther stakehlders. Manage the selectin f Schl s external agents fr nline design. Wrk with the Head f Crprate Cmmunicatins and Marketing t create a cnsistent nline cmmunicatins editrial strategy in rder t effectively deliver pririty messages acrss all e- cmmunicatins, shwcasing CJBS excellence. Wrk cllabratively with the Heads f Alumni Relatins, Stewardship and Press t ensure that the nline cmmunicatins strategies meet the needs f specific target audiences. In cllabratin with prgramme marketing managers, ensure that the nline cmmunicatins strategy is fully integrated with prgramme marketing. Understand the needs f prgrammes that d nt have dedicated marketing resurce (e.g. PhD) and identify ways in which the nline cmmunicatins strategy can supprt these prgramme bjectives. Prject management Apply rigrus prject management methdlgy t nline prjects such as: a redesign f the Schl s website; the implementatin f a cntent management system; a digital asset management system, and media mnitring platfrm bth when using external suppliers (develpers, designers, phtgraphers, etc) and in-huse resurces. Wrk clsely with key prject stakehlders n prject scpe, requirements analysis, functinal and technical specificatins; creating detailed prject plans t ensure that prjects meet stakehlder needs, are delivered n time and t budget. Online cntent management Lead n the develpment f devlved cntent publishing, prviding technical guidance and training t multiple stakehlders. Put quality assurance systems in place t ensure that the quality f the Schl s nline cntent remains at a cnsistently high standard. Create, maintain and manage editrial plicy fr nline cmmunicatins, ensuring the delivery f prfessinal, clear and cnsistent messages t a range f stakehlders. Advise clleagues and ther teams n nline cmmunicatins best practice and writing effectively fr the nline medium. Assist in the develpment f new cntent fr the Schl s sites, nline media and scial media channels. 2

Respnsible fr cntent n the Schl s external website, ensuring regular audits are carried ut t ensure that cntent is up-t-date, accurate and rganised frm an audience perspective (e.g. aviding the duplicatin f infrmatin). Develp a Search Engine Optimisatin (SEO) strategy and versee its implementatin. Advise and prvide training t cntent cntributrs acrss the rganisatin n hw best t write cntent t maximise SEO. Management and supervisin f staff Recruitment and inductin f Online Cmmunicatins staff. Setting bjectives, appraisal, persnal develpment and training f direct reprts. Prvisin f equipment, ffice space and ther resurces as necessary. C-rdinate and supervise allcatin f wrk, ensuring a high quality f wrk and service are cmpleted in a timely and prfessinal manner. Undertake rutine persnnel management such as mnitring and authrising leave and absence and implementing disciplinary actin if required. Prvide leadership and mtivatin. Facilitate cmmunicatins between reprting staff and the wider rganisatin. Line manages health and safety respnsibilities. Make recmmendatins n grading and discretinary increments. Risk assessment and management f risk fr staff activities and evaluatins f institutinal expsure bth financial and reputatinal. In additin, manage the cmmissining f wrk t external cmpanies. Training and technical trubleshting Set up an nline cntent wrking grup fr External Affairs clleagues, marketing managers frm all centres and prgrammes in the Schl and all website cntributrs t prvide training and guidance n nline cntent prductin and publishing. Central Services Service Level Agreement. Input int the establishment f a Service Level Agreement fr the prvisin f advice and guidance as a central service fr nline design and cmmunicatins thrughut the Schl. Evaluatin and quality assurance Carry ut analysis f the perfrmance f the Schl s websites. Carry ut user experience testing and cntent use and effectiveness.. Cmmissin user experience and usability testing with key internal and external audiences and plan changes t web design and services. Review usage and prepare regular reprts and presentatins n cntent perfrmance. Research and analysis Carry ut regular audits f website usage (readership, cntent last updated etc). 3

Carry ut cmpetitr analysis and clsely mnitr cmpetitr activity t make recmmendatins and infrm nline cmmunicatins and strategic plans. Maintain an understanding f the current landscape systems relating t web cntent. Online brand management Wrking clsely with the Head f Crprate Cmmunicatins and Marketing, versee the Schl s nline brand, ensuring adherence t brand guidelines. Wrk with nline creative agencies, web develpers, ther vendrs and internal clleagues t ensure that the Schl s brand is accurately implemented fr every prject; ensuring cnsistent brand psitining in all nline presence. Oversight f nline cmmunicatins t ensure cnsistency in design, message and quality. Lead n imprvement f nline design. Prvide expertise t the Digital Learning Grup n using the brand, which may invlve cmmissining designs, signing ff user interface design etc. Sign ff nline design and editrial. Ensure cmmunicatin n the Schl s websites and ther cmmunicatins channels is accurate, timely, cnsistent, and f a high quality. Scial media Wrking with members f the Crprate Cmmunicatins and Marketing team, play an active rle in the Schl s scial media strategy t maximise nline engagement. Set up and maintain apprved Schl scial media platfrms. Set up mechanisms by which cmments t the website are highlighted and fed thrugh t the Cmmunicatins Officer. Manage the Schl s scial media mnitring services and deliver intelligence n the Schl s brand perceptin and reputatin t a range f internal stakehlders. Ensure that stakehlders are kept infrmed f key issues identified nline and wrk t mitigate reputatinal risks. Technical standards, implementatin, statutry and legal issues Determine the technical standards t be used n the Schl s websites and nline cmmunicatins. Ensure full risk analysis is carried ut when embarking n new prjects r purchasing new prducts r systems. Decide n quality cntrl and set ut the quality assurance testing required. Ensure analysis and reprting is carried ut by members f the Online Cmmunicatins team. Overall respnsibility fr nline cmpliance with apprpriate legislatin, as well as best practice and University plicy. Maintain an awareness f intellectual prperty and cpyright issues relating t nline cntent, and ensure that risks t the Schl in these areas are minimised. Ensure that infrmatin available via the web is in accrdance with the Data Prtectin, Cpyright and Freedm f Infrmatin Acts. 4

Benefits This is a full-time psitin wrking 37 hurs per week. The salary will be in the range 34,233-45,954 per annum. There will be a nine mnth prbatinary perid. Hliday entitlement is 33 days per annum plus eight days f public hlidays. The full incremental salary range fr the psitin is advertised in rder t demnstrate the prgressin fr the Grade. In the majrity f cases appintments will be made at the Grade minimum; nly in very specific exceptinal circumstances can a higher salary be ffered.
