Waterpark Meeting for Parents 2016
Dates Wednesday 11 th May leaving school at 10.15am until Friday 13 th May leaving Waterpark at 1.00 and arriving back to school at 1.45. We will be using Clarksons Coach Company.

Sleeping arrangements Dorms range from 2 to 6 beds. Same gender rooms. Children will be with at least one friend but I cannot guarantee them being with everyone they want to. Yarlside Staff will be in separate rooms along the same corridor as the children.
Activities The children will be constantly under the supervision of qualified instructors from Waterpark and staff from Yarlside. They will be split into mixed gender groups and take part in a variety of activities (yet to be finalised) such as: Climbing wall Orienteering Team building exercises Canoeing Assault course Tree climbing Ghyll Scrambling Rock Climbing (it will all be very similar to last year) The instructors do encourage the children to take part in all the activities but no child will be forced to do anything they are really unhappy about.
Clothing and Equipment List This will be provided nearer the time but parents are not expected to buy any additional clothing or equipment. The following equipment is available from Water Park at no extra cost:- Waterproof jacket and trousers, Fleece jumper, Hat and gloves, Walking boots, Wellingtons, all specialist water sports clothing. The following is a suggested list for a five day visit: 3-4 pairs of socks 2-3 pairs of thick socks (if possible) 5 sets of underwear 1- pair of casual trousers 2-3 pairs of tracksuit trousers or similar (not jeans) these may get wet and dirty 4-5 T-shirts 2-3 jumpers or fleece jumpers or sweatshirts 1- coat or jacket 1- swimming costume 1- towel 1- bag of toiletries 1 pair indoor shoes (non marking soles) or slippers - available at Water Park 1 pair outdoor shoes - these may get wet and dirty 1- pair wellingtons (if possible) 1- set nightwear 1- dressing gown 1- torch (plus batteries) 1- drinks container/bottle 1- sandwich box 1- hat (winter/autumn) 1- pair of gloves (winter/autumn) 1- sun hat/baseball cap (summer) 1- sun cream (summer) 1- sunglasses (summer)
Meals and snacks On the first day children will be provided with a packed lunch. After that all meals and drinks will be provided. The children will be given breakfast, they will then make their own packed lunch for the day and be given an evening meal at night. There is a tuck shop where children can buy snacks (chocolate, sweets, small souvenirs etc at a small cost). They should not require any additional food but if your child has special dietary requirements then please let me know.
Contacting home I will message school once we are there and keep in touch over the next couple of days. Children are not allowed to bring mobile phones, but there is a pay phone available inside the hostel and children can phone home of an evening. If we are expected back late on the Friday a text message will be sent out to parents. In case of an emergency at home, please contact school during school hours. You will all be given a phone number to contact for out of school hours emergencies.

Payment Cost of trip is 100 and this has been subsidised by Waterpark. Please pay 20 deposit by 17 th December so that numbers can be confirmed. The remaining 80 can be paid in instalments or in full. You will receive a payment card. The balance of the trip must be paid by Friday 29 th April.
