1 My roots of Europe youth exchange 19 th October (Arrival Day) 28 th October (Departure Day) 2015 INFOPACK for participants The specific aim of this project is an intercultural integration with a focus on non-formal cultural education and artistic exchange. The priority aim o f the project is to set up conditions in which the participants can live, create, explore, reflect and understand each other. The motivation and guarantee of success in this project is the inovative collaboration of amateurs and professionals. Actors, theatre pedagogues and directors will inspire the others by the workshops. This will teach the amateurs the ability to create their own vision of intercultural theatre, which means the amateurs will do it on their own. It is an open process, combined with clear, modern and pedagogical methods, that will lead into an extraordinary. The results of this artistic flow will be shown in front of the local audience. Each group will have the possibility to show their own stage achievements of their countries and inspire the others by presenting self-made videos of their hometowns. "My roots of Europe" is an artistic and intellectual reflection of the boundries between the identity of the participants local roots and the context of the common idea of Europe. Questions like "Where am I from?", "What is Europe for me?" and "What does this mean for me as European citizen?" will have time and place to be individually answered. This project has also the aim to involve youngsters with lower social posibilities and disabilities. The centre of attention will be the intercultural integration of those who had no chance to develop themselves with others in a creative way.

2 Practical information pack PLEASE read ALL of this document, as there are some very important information for you to know. Participating countries: Lithuania, Italy and Poland We are inviting from each ORGANISATION a group of 12 participants (aged 18-30) + 1 leader (aged 18+) Please, arrange a group of people, who are equal in genders. The language during all the exercises will be English, so everybody has to be able to communicate in this language. Accomodation, 3 daily meals and all the activities costs are covered by project money (expect pocket money during free time). Please, ask your group coordinators about transport fee. ACCOMODATION ul. Jana Pawła II 362 b Biały Dunajec You are going to be accommodated in people rooms in a private pension located 9,5 km from Zakopane the capital of the Polish Winter and Tatry mountains! In each one there is a bathroom with shower. We offer you free Internet access and a lot of free space!

It is entirely up to you what to bring for this evening) (Please note that it is possible to cook food in the kitchen for this evening, in case some of you wanted to prepare anything hot) For those who have never attended an International Evening before, this is an evening where you have the chance to present your culture, through food, dance and so on. As there are 8 persons from each country you may wish to consult with the other persons coming, so you can prepare something together. You will get some time to prepare for the evening during the project, however it is best that you prepare as much as you can before you come, as the time during the project will be very short.

5 If you are still not certain what all this means, please just write to me and I will give you more examples. Clothing Please, prepare the clothes to feel comfortable during workshops: bring sport clothes, no jeans! As the project is in October, the weather in Poland can be sometimes good and sunny, sometimes a little windy and rainy. Despite that, 1 and 2 years ago in November it was really sunny project there! Take some warm clothes, rain jackets, sweatshirts and warm comfortable shoes. Some activities can be carried out outside - be prepared for that. However, the biggest part of the program will be inside. You can check the weather here: Medicaments - if you ll need them (anti allergy pills, pain killers, aspirin etc.) Money - you will have one day during the project, when you can explore Zakopane city. You may wish to do some shopping while there, so money would be needed for this. The currency in Poland is PLN (Polish Złoty), just in case you did not know. At the moment the exchange rate is (1 Euro = about 4,20 PLN) Some examples of the cost you might want to spend: 1 beer in pub = 10 PLN 1L Coca-Cola = 4 PLN Chocolate bar = 4 PLN (this is just to give you a rough idea of how much would certain items cost, however those prices are just examples and they can and will vary depending on the place and store) Showering products - The accommodation will provide sheets, pillows and towels for each person. HOWEVER YOU NEED TO BRING A TOWEL It is therefore normal for you to bring your own soap, shampoo, toothpaste and brush, as well as any other products you use during your self-cleaning procedure. You will be sharing the showers with other people in your room, so no long showers will be possible. Swimming pool suit there is an aqua park in Zakopane. Please do not forget to bring the swimming suit and a towel! Passport - Please make sure you have at least three month valid on your passport or ID Card, as you cannot use your Passport or ID Card if it is less than three months left. It is also good Practice to have the address of our accommodation written down alone with the contact numbers. Internet - There will be wireless Internet available during the project. PLEASE note that any Internet use during the project should be restricted to checking any important s that cannot wait until you return home. Internet is NOT to be used for download movies,

6 watching YouTube or anything like this. If everybody starts downloading files at one moment there will be no Internet. Other Materials - If you want you can bring musical instruments with you, this is perfectly fine for us. Also any Music CD you have that you would like to share with us during the project, as we know everyone has their own sort of music they like to listen to. If you have traditional music that you would like to teach dances to, then make sure you bring it with you. Insurance It is recommended to buy special insurance for the travel. If you are not interested, please remember to take EKUZ (or other international insurance card)! Local Store - There is a local store in the village (about 3 minutes walk), if you find that you need additional food other than what we give you. Although the project will provide you with 3 meals each day, some people may want other things to snack on, like chocolate and stuff like this, which we do not provide. Anything purchased in any store is at your own expenses, as we provide you with more than enough food for the duration of the project. Please store our numbers into your phone, in case you have any problems at all. We are your coordinators, so if you have questions or problems please contact us.
