Have proven knowledge of the University s Act, Statutes and other regulations related to academic administration; iii. Demonstrate evidence of administrative leadership and be able to supervise and oversee the provision of academic and other related services; iv. REGISTRAR (PLANNING, ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE) Reporting to the Deputy Principal (Planning, Administration and Finance), the successful candidate will be responsible for a range of key administrative and policy areas that relate to administration, 3

MEDICAL OFFICER Reporting to the Deputy Principal (Planning, Administration and Finance), the Medical Officer will be responsible for provision of quality health care to all staff and students in the University and work closely with other staff in the Health Unit and University Management in providing support and guidance on health matters. Applicants must be holders of a Bachelor of Medicine degree in Human Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent qualification from a recognized University. In addition they must: i. Have a minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience in a large hospital setting; ii. Be licensed to practice medicine by the Kenya Medical and Dentists Practitioners Board; iii. Have experience in managing a team and building capacity; iv. Have postgraduate qualification/short courses in various medical fields; v. Be conversant with relevant computer based health management systems; and vi. Have knowledge of laws and regulations governing medical practices in Kenya. MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST The applicants must be holders of KCSE C-/KCE DIV III and above and an Ordinary Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent qualification from KMTC or any other recognized institution. In addition they must; i. Have at least three (3) year s post qualification experience in a busy medical laboratory; ii. Be registered and hold a valid practicing license from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists; 4
iii. Have postgraduate qualification/short courses in various medical field; and iv. Be computer literate. CATERING AND ACCOMMODATION MANAGER Reporting to the Deputy Principal (Planning, Administration and Finance), the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating catering and accommodation services at the University. Applicants for this position must be holders of a Master s degree in Institutional Management or Hospitality related field from a recognized University. In addition, applicants must: i. Have a minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience in a busy catering or accommodation department preferably at an institution of higher learning; ii. Have experience in preparing and controlling a budget, managing stock levels and ordering supplies; iii. Be conversant with hygiene, health and safety regulations in catering and accommodation and carrying out risk assessments as necessary; iv. Be able to manage and motivate catering and accommodation staff towards excellent performance; and v. Be conversant with the relevant computer based management information systems. PROCUREMENT OFFICER Applicants for this position must be holders of a Bachelor s degree in Procurement and Supplies Management or Supply Chain Management or related field from a recognized University. In addition, applicants must: i. Have a minimum of five (5) years work experience in a busy Purchasing and Supplies or Procurement Office of a large organization; ii. Be a Registered Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supplies (CIPS) or equivalent; iii. Have good understanding of laws and regulations governing procurement in public organizations; iv. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strong negotiation skills; v. Be a person of high of Integrity and Ethics; and vi. Be conversant with relevant computer based management information systems. Those with a Master s degree in the related field with at least three (3) years post qualification work experience and satisfy the above requirements will also be considered. FARM MANAGER Reporting to the Deputy Principal (Planning, Administration and Finance) the Farm Manager will be responsible for managing general operations of the farm in a proactive manner and ensuring excellent returns. The incumbent must be a holder of at least a Diploma in Farm Management, Animal Production or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. In addition he/she must; i. Have at least five (5) year s relevant post qualification working experience in a formal agriculture based establishment; ii. Have excellent business record keeping, reporting, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; iii. Have proven track record in managing a large team of farm personnel; iv. Show proficiency in the relevant computer based farm management systems; and 5
v. Be business oriented individual with ability to manage the farm as a business and run it profitably. The successful candidate will serve on a three (3) year contract terms of service renewable subject to satisfactory performance. ASSISTANT FARM MANAGER Applicants must be holders of at least a Diploma in Agriculture, Farm Management, Animal Production, Crop production or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. In addition he/she must; i. Have at least three (3) year s relevant post qualification working experience in a formal agriculture based establishment; ii. Have good business record keeping, reporting, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; iii. ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT Applicants must be holders of a Master s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent qualification from a recognized University. In addition they must: i. Have CPA (K) or equivalent professional qualification; ii. Have a minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience in a large organization; iii. Demonstrate proficiency in accounting packages such as SAP, Sage, Pastel, Tally and Quickbooks. iv. Be a person of high integrity and ethical standards and a team player; and v. Be familiar with financial regulations and procedures and ability to enhance internal controls. SENIOR ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT Applicants must be holders of at least a Bachelor s degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification from a recognized University and CPA (K) Certificate or equivalent. In addition they must: i. Have a minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience in a large accounts office; ii. Demonstrate working knowledge in accounting packages such as SAP, Sage, Pastel, Tally and Quick-books; and iii. Demonstrate good communication skills, problem Solving skills and analytical skills. ACCOUNTS CLERK Applicants must be holders of at least KCSE C-/KCE DIV III and above and a minimum of CPA I certificate or equivalent qualification. In addition they must: i. Have a minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience preferably as a cashier in a busy accounts office; ii. Be flexible and able to work odd hours; and iii. Have a working knowledge in any one accounting package. SECRETARY Applicants must be holders of KCSE C/KCE DIV III and above. They must have at least a Higher Diploma in Secretarial Studies or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. In addition they must: i. Have at least three (3) years relevant work experience as a Secretary preferably in an examination office of an institution of higher Learning; 6
ii. Demonstrate competency in various computer based typesetting and word processing applications and programmes; iii. Demonstrate competency in preparing and maintaining office records, reports, and correspondence; iv. Be able to input data into computers at high speeds, edit material and proofread entries; and v. Be able to operate various printers, photocopiers, scanners and related machines. DATA ENTRY CLERK Applicants must be holders of KCSE C-/KCE DIV III and above and a Diploma in Computer Studies or related field from a recognized institution. In addition, applicants must: i. Have a minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience in a busy office preferably in an examination office of an institution of higher learning. ii. Show evidence of knowledge in relevant computer based management information systems. LIBRARY ASSISTANT Applicants must be holders of KCSE C-/KCE DIV III and above and a Diploma in Library or Information Science or related field from a recognized institution. In addition, applicants must: i. Have a minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience in a busy Library preferably at an institution of higher learning. ii. Show evidence of knowledge in relevant computer based management information systems. Experience with online cataloguing and classification will be an added advantage. ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE OFFICER The applicants must be holders of KCSE C -/KCE DIV III and above. They must have at least a Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Water Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalents of these qualifications from a recognized institution. In addition they must: i. Have at least three (3) years relevant work experience in a large organization; ii. Demonstrate knowledge of computer based applications in the relevant area; iii. Demonstrate technical capacity, communication skills, problem Solving, analytical skills and diligence in executing tasks; and iv. Have knowledge on making reports of work done. TECHNICIAN (Grade E/F) Applicants must be holders of KCSE C+/KCE DIV II and above and a Higher National Diploma or a Bachelor s degree in the relevant area from a recognized institution. In addition they must: i. Have at least five (5) year s relevant work experience, three (3) of which as a Technician Grade C/D or comparable position preferably in an institution of higher learning; ii. Be able to organize practicals and supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students during practicals; iii. Demonstrate knowledge in procurement of laboratory equipment and materials and maintaining inventory records; iv. Demonstrate knowledge in maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment; v. Have knowledge in establishing and setting up a laboratory; and vi. Show evidence of computer literacy. Membership to a relevant professional body will be an added advantage. TECHNICIAN (Grade C/D) Applicants must be holders of KCSE C /KCE DIV III and above and a Higher National Diploma or a Bachelor s degree in the relevant area from a recognized institution. In addition they must: i. Have at least three (3) year s relevant work experience as a Technician Grade A/B or comparable position preferably in an institution of higher learning; 7
ii. Demonstrate ability to maintain laboratory equipment; iii. Demonstrate knowledge in procurement of laboratory equipment and materials and maintaining inventory records; iv. Be able to supervise students during practical sessions; and v. Show evidence of computer literacy.
