Overview The recently surveyed the membership in order to elicit feedback in relation to the Club s current competition diary. We would like to take the opportunity to thank those members who took the time to complete the survey. Over 188 members completed the survey and it should be remembered that when numbers and percentages are quoted, this relates only to the total number of responses received and not the membership as a whole. Your open and honest feedback has allowed us to review our current offering and undertake a number of changes, which are detailed within the report. This will ensure that we provide the best possible environment for you all to enjoy your golf. Results Overview 2
Based on the feedback from Q3 the may review the scheduling of Thursday and Saturday competitions to ensure that they do not fall on the same week and alternate them. 3
Q5 What competitions would you like to see at the Club? Based on the comments that we received, we are actually doing very well with the variety of competitions that we currently offer. As a direct result of the feedback that we received we will be trialling 9 hole competitions for our male 9 hole members with effect from 1 st July. Q6 What if anything would you change about the bank holiday competitions? The majority of members who play in the Bank Holiday competitions are content with the current offering. However, many members do not play in these competitions due to family commitments etc. Going forward we may consider a package that provides food as part of the entry. 4
Based on the findings from Q7, a new knock out 4BBB competition has been created. This involves the top 32 pairs from the Lees Cup who qualify to play in a knock out competition. Q8 What would you change about any competition at the club. (Please be specific about the competition and the change(s) you would like to see). Again the good news is that we are actually giving the majority of you what you want. Many of the respones were very prescriptive, Do not change anything, Content. Q9 What would encourage you to play in more competitions at the club? It was felt that our competitions were well organised and there was a good balance of mixed and fun competitions on offer also. As a direct result of the feedback received from this question, we are trialling an allocation of three tee times for the ladies on a Sunday to accommodate their alternate medals/stablefords. We have also conducted a review of junior prizes to ensure a better level of prizes are on offer for our junior golfers. 5
Based on the findings from Q10 we will be making a number of enhancements to the members section of the website to ensure that all members are aware of all club team opportunities as well as information about mixed matches etc. 6
The new cloud based management information system that we hope to install in December will allow the opportunity for members to have a choice in relation to how their competition winnings are allocated. Q12 Please give any other comments that you feel appropriate The vast majority of comments that we received were very positive and there was a general feeling that a number of positive changes were taking place throughout the club to move it forward. Information was more forthcoming and transparent and the survey was a welcomed initiative. 7
