INTERNATIONAL HORSE CAMP IN NORTH ITALY GRAITESCA RIDING CLUB organizes horse riding summer camps in the summer of 2011, for children in the age of 8 to 16 years old. The summer camp will take place on the ranch of the Equiturismo Passerano in the little village of Passerano Marmorito, in the hills of Piedmont, Asti area, in the north of Italy. One or two weeks where it is all about horses and adventure! The summer camp offers a lot of activities like horse riding lessons, horse riding tours and sportive tournaments. Also we will provide educational activities to learn more about taking care of horses and horse anatomy. Furthermore it is possible to take English or Italian language lessons. It makes no difference if you are beginner or advanced, we will consider your level. This summer camp wants to stimulate children to enjoy the contact with animals and with nature. Leaving the TV and computer at home and spend some time outside. Wonderful riding tours in the spectacular Monferrato area. Exciting activities in the forests. Being around your favorite animals all day, together with other horse lovers and making new friends! So are you between 8 and 16 years old? Are you a horse lover? Would you like to set off to an exciting horse camp in Italy? Do you like to meet new friends, just as crazy about horses like you? Then this summer camp is just perfect for you! The summer camp is organized by the equestrian centre GRAITESCA RIDING CLUB, associated with F.I.S.E (Italian Federation for Equestrian Sports). The Graitesca Riding Club, based in Cambiano-Turin, offers horse riding lessons for children and adults, pony club, training for all Olympic horse sports, horse training, breeding and horse and pony retirement. In collaboration with the French trade school Maison Familiale Rurale, the Graitesca Riding Club offers also internships for students.

STAFF We present to you our staff! Valentina Guzzinati: F.I.S.E. horse riding instructress, pony club animator. Giulia De Carlini: Pony club animator. Jolene Groen: Organisation, animation program, contact person.

EQUESTRIAN SPORTS The summer camp activity program is based on sports, and stimulates children to challenge themselves and each other. Of course, the most important activity is horse riding! Two hours a day there will be horse riding lessons, given by professional instructors. The children will be divided into small groups based on their level. In that way, beginners will have the chance to learn the bases of horse riding step by step, and advanced riders can improve their skills. The program provides also other horse activities. Like horse riding games, for improving the rider s self esteem and agility. Or riding tours in the beautiful nature, of course always accompanied by professional guides, because having fun is important, but one must never forget the children s safety. Then there is also the educational part of the activity program. Because practicing a sport like horse riding, it is not only the technical part that counts, it is also very important to know how to take care of a horse properly, treat them with all respect and get to know them. That is why the children are involved in taking care of the horses. They will learn how to treat them, clean them and saddle them. Also they will study their anatomy, behavior and alimentary. This summer camp is the perfect way to experience a very special summer a summer in the saddle! OTHER ACTIVITIES The activity program offers also other exciting and educational activities that help to increase team spirit. For example: Tournaments and outdoor games Treasure hunt Orienteering (also on horse) Bow shooting Survival games Adventure trails in the forest Evening program for all ages (bingo, film, crafts etc.)

We will provide also lessons in English or Italian, so that children improve their knowledge of a foreign language without effort and have fun at the same time! The ranch lies on the foot of the Passerano Castle and offers a fantastic panorama over a very special and beautiful landscape. The building has a great yard and a large dining room/kitchen. On the first floor there are 3 large dormitories with castle beds. On the first floor there is also a playing room in the former hayloft, an ideal place for recreation and group activities.
