1. Key Enhancements 1) RSA Secure Id Token is no longer required for access to Epic and ClinAcc via Citrix. a. Your Akron Children s Hospital (ACH) windows user name and password will be used. 2) Personal Windows Computers, ipads and iphones b. Access to Epic via Citrix from personal devices is available on a widespread basis for Akron Children s providers. Previous access from personal devices was an exception-based process. c. MAC computers are not supported by ACH although they may work with the remote access technologies. ACH may be able to help but will not guarantee any MAC device will fully function across the ACH network which includes wireless and remote access. 2. Technical Support for Remote Access Technical support for remote access is available by contacting: ACH Service Desk at 330-543-ITEZ(4839). Support for issues with your internet provider, wireless connectivity, personal computer or other technology outside the control of ACH is limited. ACH technicians cannot support or change technology owned/provided by other parties. Support for remote access is on a best effort basis and ACH support technicians are not permitted to provide support on location at personal residences or home offices. The entire remote access environment is designed and configured to operate using a current Windows device. Devices such as MACs and other mobile devices MAY work but there is no guaranteeing these other configurations will operate correctly or completely. The ACH Information Technology Department (IT) MAY be able to help to a limited extent and on a best effort basis but they are not equipped to support all possible types of devices. 3. Computer System Requirements Below are the computer configurations supported by the ACH IT Department. Older software and operating systems on PSs are not supported and may not function for remote access. 1) Windows Devices: Windows O/S of XP w/sp3 or higher (Win7 / Vista) 2) Mobile device with support for the Citrix Receiver application. NOTE: Instructions are included for the ipad and iphone in this document. Other mobile platforms may work as well but are not included in this document. 3) DSL/Cable Connection for best performance 4) MAC computers are not supported by the ACH IT Department However, we have included set-up instructions for MAC Devices: Mac OS X 10.6 or Mac OS X 10.7, 32-bit or 64-bit 4. Windows PC Access 1) Open up Internet Explorer and type in the following address: https://access2.chmca.org 2) Citrix Set-up If you do not have the Citrix Web Client installed on your computer, you will be prompted to install it. Check the box to agree with the Citrix license agreement and press the Install button as shown below. 3) Older Citrix. If you have an older version of the Citrix Client installed, you will be prompted to upgrade. Please upgrade at this time. Do not upgrade later or you may experience issues accessing Citrix, Epic and other systems remotely. Page 4 7/11/2012 Remote Access Setup Instructions v6
4) If prompted with the following security warning, press Run. 5) If prompted a second time after the installer is downloaded, select Run again. 6) After the installation finishes, press OK to continue. 7) Citrix Log-in You should now be presented with a logon page. Enter the following information to login and press the Log On button when finished: User name: Your Windows username Password: Your Windows password Page 5 7/11/2012 Remote Access Setup Instructions v6
8) Access Permissions You will then be presented with a screen of applications that you have access to. For example: Epic, Clinacc, XWeb, etc. Some of the applications may be in a folder such as Web Links. 5. ipad Access 1) Install the Citrix Receiver application from the Apple App Store a) Open up the App Store application on your ipad b) Search for Citrix Receiver c) Install the Citrix Receiver application. Make sure you select the one for the ipad vs. the iphone. 2) Configure the Citrix Receiver application for access to our Citrix environment a) Open the Citrix Receiver app b) Select Add Account c) Enter https://access2.chmca.org for the address and press Next d) You should now be presented with a configuration page. Enter the following information: User name: Your Windows username Domain: chmca.org e) Press Save. (Your credentials will then be verified) f) Enter your Windows password to connect. 3) You will then be presented with a screen of applications that you have access to. For example: Epic, Clinacc, XWeb, etc. Some of the applications may be in a folder such as Web Links. Not all users will have access to the same applications. While the Epic and ClinAcc applications can be accessed via ipad and iphone they are not designed for a touch screen interface and may not be easily navigated from these devices. 4) You should now have a new account named CHMCA Virtual Apps that you can connect to going forward. 5) ipad Settings a) Select the gear icon in the upper right hand corner to change various application settings. For example, you can change the display, allow the ipad to stay awake, etc. b) If at any time you need to edit the site address, press the name shown (default name is CHMCA Virtual Apps ). Select Edit. Select the name next to the red dash. You should then be presented with the address and description field. Page 7 7/11/2012 Remote Access Setup Instructions v6
6. iphone Access 1) Install the Citrix Receiver application from the Apple App Store a) Open up the App Store application on your iphone b) Search for Citrix Receiver c) Install the Citrix Receiver application 2) Configure the Citrix Receiver application for access to our Citrix environment d) Open the Citrix Receiver app e) Select Add Account f) Enter https://access2.chmca.org for the address and press Next g) You should now be presented with a configuration page. 7. MAC Access While our IT Department does not formally support MAC computers, we are providing the remote access instructions. To download the Citrix Receiver for MAC 11.5 you will need the administrator name and password for your MAC computer. 1) Download the Citrix Receiver for MAC 11.5 from Citrix at the address below. The receiver is free. This Citrix receiver is verified to work for MacBook and MacBookPro. http://www.citrix.com/english/ss/downloads/details.asp?downloadid=2323407&productid=1689163 The following screen will be presented. 2) Click on the black Download Button. 4) Double click on the Install Citrix Reciever.pkg icon on the left. a. A Java error may occur when you click install Citrix receiver if you have not updated the firmware or software on your MAC recently. To update Java for MAC click on the Apple in the upper left corner and select software updates. Proceed through the firmware and software update process then download the Citrix receiver. 10) Initiate the Installer a) Name: Type the name of the system administrator for your MAC. b) Password: type the administrator password for your MAC. c) Click the blue Install Software button. 11) When you see the installation was successful screen, click the blue Close button. Setting up your Citrix Receiver for easy Remote Access to Epic from a MAC The steps below will only be required once and will allow you to remotely access Epic with just a few clicks. 12. On your MAC desktop screen click Go on the top tool bar then select (click) Applications Page 15 7/11/2012 Remote Access Setup Instructions v6
13. The Citrix Receiver will appear as one of your Applications. It may appear as a list or like the window below. Click on the Citrix Receiver icon and drag to your desktop or bottom menu bar based on your preference. Exit the applications screen. Click on the Citrix Receiver Icon on your desktop or menu bar. 15. The screen below will appear when you have clicked your Citrix Receiver icon. In the Server URL field below enter access2.chmca.org as shown. 16. The box below will be presented with information already populated in the data fields. Verify that the information in this box on your computer matches the information below. 17. In the box below enter your Children s User name and password. This is the user name that includes your initials and employee number. Click Log On. 18. The Add Apps Screen will be presented. Click on Add Apps in the middle of the screen OR you can click on the icon with the plus + sign on the left tool bar to add apps. Page 18 7/11/2012 Remote Access Setup Instructions v6
19. Click on All Applications 20. The applications you have access to remotely will appear on the screen. a) Single click Epic 2010 production and any other application that you will use remotely. This adds the application to your Citrix home screen. 21. This is your Citrix Home Screen. In the future when you click on the Citrix icon this screen will appear. Just click Epic 2010 Production or other application that you want to use. 22. When clicking the Epic Icon the Epic Hyperspace screen will be presented. Enter your Akron Children s User name and password for Epic. 12) Click on the icon for the Epic environment you need to access. 8. XWeb Application Notes When accessing XWeb, you will see the following warning box about the Internet Explorer version. Press OK to continue. You will then be presented with the XWeb logon screen where you logon using your XWeb credentials. Page 21 7/11/2012 Remote Access Setup Instructions v6
