3 Introduction Purpose service is a method of connecting to ACTGOV resources that provides remote connectivity to a number of different services including remote access to any application on the Citrix Presentation Server farm. The major aim of this service is to allow users to connect from a number of different platforms into ACTGOV using a secure One Time Pass Code system. This document outlines the procedures for a client connecting to the Service from a remote Computer. 4 Instructions 1. Connecting Citrix Website Open Internet Explorer and enter the address into the address bar. This will display the following web page. 2. Entering username, password and pass Code Enter your normal ACTGOV User name and Password. Then in the Pass Code box you need to enter the one-time code generated by your ACTGOV token. You simply need to press the button on the token to generate a code, which you type into the Pass Code box (ensure the token is up the right way you should be able to read the word Vasco at the bottom of the screen). 5 3. Accessing the Desktop using Citrix Click the ACT Government Desktop from the Application List to access Desktop through Citrix. The native client will launch When the following message pops up, click on OK Click No the following prompt: Date issued: 15 January 2010 Version: 1.0 Page 5 of 23

Installing Native Citrix Web Client If you have never connected to, the first time you connect to the webpage, after you log onto the service, you will need to install Citrix Web Client required software (first time only). If the message centre comes with warning We are unable to detect the appropriate client software on your computer to allow you to lunch your application. Click the second icon from right to Click here to start the client detection and download process. On the next page click Detect Client. Date issued: 15 January 2010 Version: 1.0 Page 6 of 23

7 In the Client Status section, beside the Native Clients, click on Deploy If it is already installed, the option will be blank. Click the Download button to download the Citrix Web Client Date issued: 15 January 2010 Version: 1.0 Page 7 of 23

9 After client has been installed, you will be receiving the following message. 11 5. Downloading Native Citrix Web Client from Citrix.com If you have any issue with above steps, the Web client can be downloaded from Click on Downloads Click on Citrix Clients Date issued: 15 January 2010 Version: 1.0 Page 11 of 23

12 From the drop down menu select Windows (32/64-bit) Click on Citrix Online Plug-in Download the Web Plug-in Date issued: 15 January 2010 Version: 1.0 Page 12 of 23

14 6. Installing Citrix Legacy Client on ACTGov laptops from Citrix.com On ACTGov laptops user needs Admin rights to install Citrix client. If the user do not have admin rights on local laptops.msi version of Citrix client needs to be download and installed. Clicking the following link will open up a webpage with all versions of XenApps (Citrix client): At the bottom of the webpage, under Legacy Client, click on XenApp Plug-in (Client) - Version Download the web plug-in in.msi format Save the file on the local PC and install the client, shown in step 3. 16 At the bottom of the webpage, under Legacy Client, click on XenApp Plug-in (Client) - Version Download the web plug-in in.msi format Save the file on the local PC and install the client, shown in step 3. Date issued: 15 January 2010 Version: 1.0 Page 16 of 23

17 7. Using a browser that is not Internet Explorer or using a Macintosh computer Internet Explorer is the supported and preferred browser on a Windows 2000, XP or Vista computer. If you have issues beyond the scope of these instructions please use a supported configuration. To implement this solution you need to have Java s JRE update 6 or better preinstalled on your machine. Java can be downloaded for free from please refer to the Java website for support and configuration of java. Log in to (Step 1) Click the Third Icon on the Applications List (Step 3); select Java Client and click OK. Date issued: 15 January 2010 Version: 1.0 Page 17 of 23

18 8. Known Issue accessing Citrix Desktop Enable ActiveX Control If the following message shows up to enable the ActiveX, Click on the flashing bar on the top of the webpage and select (click) Run Add-on Click Run Date issued: 15 January 2010 Version: 1.0 Page 18 of 23

21 Add Click Site Added This will take back to the Application lists. If the page does not return to Application List, please click the first Icon to return to Application List Close the Internet Explorer and then re-launch the Internet Explorer to log back in to webpage.
