On Campus: For users connecting internally or from a Hoag facility (through Hoag s network) use desktop.hoag.org as the default server. 2

3 1. From your PC, go to Scroll down to Desktop & End-User Computing and select VMware Horizon Clients and click Download Product. 2. This brings up the Download VMware Horizon Clients page. Make sure the version is 3.0. Then click Go to Downloads next to your version of Windows (typically 32-bit). 3. To check your system properties select Control Panel from Start Menu then go to System and Security/System. (Windows 7 Image) 3

4 4. This brings you to the Download VMware Horizon Client for Windows page. Click the Download button. 5. Once downloading is complete, click Run. 6. Click Next to begin the installation process. 4

5 7. Continue to click Next through the license and set-up screens. Once the process requests a Default Server enter view.hoag.org (external connections server name) and click Next. For users connecting externally or off of the Hoag network/intranet, enter view.hoag.org as the default server. For users connecting internally or from a Hoag facility (through Hoag s network) use desktop.hoag.org as the default server. 8. To complete the installation, click Install, you may be asked to restart after the installation is finished. 9. This is the icon for VMware View Client that will appear on the desktop once the installation is complete. Launch the VMware Horizon Client and double-click view.hoag.org (external server) or desktop.hoag.org (internal server connection). 10. Double click on the W7- Hoag Clinical Tap Dragon icon and proceed by entering your username and password. 5

6 Installing VMware on your ipad 1. Open the App Store on your ipad. 2. In the search field type vmware and select vmware horizon view client from the suggestions dropdown. 6

7 3. Tap on the FREE button, then tap on the INSTALL button. 4. After the app finishes downloading, go to your home screen and find the Horizon app, open it. 7

8 5. You will be taken directly to the Add Server screen. Enter view.hoag.org in the Server Address field and enter Hoag external access in the Description field, finally tap the Add Server button. Note: Use desktop.hoag.org as the internal connection server name if installing through Hoag s network. 8

9 6. You will be presented with the login screen, enter your username and password into the correct fields, and tap Login. 7. Finally you can tap on the W7 Hoag Clinical Tap Desktop icon to connect to a Clinical desktop session. 9

10 8. After your session loads, you will be greeted by the Clinical Desktop. 10

11 Installing VMware on Mac 1. Click or enter the following link on your browser n_clients/3_0 2. Click the Go to Downloads link for VMware Horizon Client for Mac. 3. Click on the Downloads icon to find the completed file. 11

12 4. Click Agree on the VMware end user licensing agreement. 5. Drag the VMware Horizon Client icon into the Application folder. 6. Open the Application folder and double click on the VMware Horizon Client icon. 12

13 7. Type view.hoag.org(external connection server name) in the text box. Note: Use desktop.hoag.org as the internal connection server name if installing through Hoag s network. 8. Enter your Username and Password and click Login. 13

14 Mac Tips When your VDI session goes to sleep: Moving your mouse pointer to the top of the screen will display the nightshade menu. From the nightshade menu, select the Ctrl-Alt-Del icon with your mouse. Ending your VDI Session on a Mac To end your VDI session, click on the disconnect icon located in the upper right corner of the nightshade menu. 14
