THE SEA-CARGO GROUP: TOTAL MADE EASY Improved service to the Møre region A direct result of the new initiative and combined service is a twice weekly sailing to/from all main ports in the Møre region and Rotterdam/Immingham. This means a 100% increase in sailing frequency in addition to a significant improvement in the overall capacity to/from the north-west coast of Norway, including Florø, Ålesund, Molde and Kristiansund. Møre has already been a focus area for Sea-Cargo for years, and with the new system in place, we will continue to develop our services in the area. The system will represent a modern logistics solution for the Møre region. The new setup is very flexible in terms of carrying various commodities such as: Containers (20/40 and 45 feet containers) Project cargo (thrusters, wire reels, winches, engines, cranes and pipes) RORO cargo (trailers, wheel loaders, mobile cranes, excavators and tractors) Side door cargo (palletised units such as pallets and big bags) We are confident that the additional tonnage will improve our service towards many companies in the region of Møre.
THE SEA-CARGO GROUP: TOTAL MADE EASY New tonnage In April this year, Sea Cargo purchased its largest RORO vessel till date. The new vessel is soon to be rebuilt with a sidedoor (as with Trans Carrier and SC Ahtela) and further re-engined to meet tomorrows requirements for green and environmental transport. She will, when rebuilt, represent the most advanced and fuel efficient vessel available. This is certainly a modal shift for Sea Cargo, both in terms of capacity (deadweight, lanemeters) and efficiency/flexibility due to the 4th generation sideport system. The new system gives a significant increase in container capacity, which allows Sea Cargo to further expand in this market. Green credentials The continental service will from 2015 consolidate liner and industrial volumes into one sailing system. This consolidation will give our customers a 50% overall reduction in carbon footprint, compared to 2013/2014. In addition to this, we will be running on low sulphur fuel only as of 2015.
