To subscribe to PocketMoni, Ensure you have a functional mobile phone and a duly registered SIM card Then text Reg First name surname e.g. Reg john obi to the short code 20220 This automatically registers you on PocketMoni platform and creates a wallet for you (at this point your phone number becomes your wallet/ mobile money account number) Wait to receive an SMS system generated default PIN/PocketMoni setup instruction Follow the guide to complete the user setup on your phone and begin to transact
3) What can I do with PocketMoni? PocketMoni subscribers can do the following using their mobile phones: Own a mobile wallet/account Receive international money transfer (MoneyGram, Western Union etc) sent from overseas by their loved ones into their wallets Deposit cash into their wallets Withdraw cash from their wallet at agent location or ATM Transfer money to a wallet, card or bank account Purchase airtime recharge Pay bills (Cable TV, PHCN and other utilities) 4) What is Int l Money Receive on PocketMoni? Ensure the sender knows your full name (i.e. as used for subscription on PocketMoni) Ensure sender communicates the correct transaction details to you Then go to PocketMoni menu and select Receive Money Select MoneyGram or Western Union and input the transaction details as required Accept the Terms and Conditions Input your 4 digit user PIN Submit transaction
8) Can the sender remit the funds Directly to my wallet? No. Though the sender sends the funds to you, you need to pull the funds into your wallet by yourself using the details received from the sender. It is a situation where you have taken ownership of the role (simplified on the phone) played by tellers at bank branches 9) What Do I Need To subscribe to PocketMoni? Yes, PocketMoni is phone agnostic and it works on the 4 major networks (MTN, Glo, Airtel and Etisalat) We have two models of application (java based and USSD) Java based is downloadable and installed on smart phones 15) Is Int l Money Transfer Receive Menu Available on all PocketMoni application versions? No, for the purpose of launch, the international money Receive menu is only available on Java based version. The USSD version will be available and announced in due course
16) How long Does it take for my wallet to be credited? Once, the right transaction details are input, submitted and verified, the users wallet is credited instantly 17) How do I know My wallet Has been Credited? PocketMoni Int l Remittance Receive Process Sender in any country completes an international funds transfer transaction and notifies the receiver PocketMoni (Nigeria) receiver selects Receive Money from the PocketMoni menu and selects MoneyGram or Western Union Receiver enters the Reference Number or Western Union Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) and other transaction details such as sender s country and name as required Upon user verification, transaction verification and authorization, receiver s wallet is credited with the amount of the transaction and the receiver gets a transaction status alert
