One of our key strategic priorities is to facilitate the development of the local economy by working with businesses throughout Bolton and Greater Manchester and providing them with responsive and flexible training solutions. Apprenticeships Apprenticeships can help businesses to tackle skills shortages by upskilling existing employees or recruiting brand new staff. They deliver real, measurable benefits (see opposite) by boosting efficiency, productivity and competitive edge. An Apprenticeship combines working with the obtainment of a nationally recognised qualification. In most cases the apprentice attends College one day a week and spends the remainder of the week in the workplace. Training for Business We offer a range of ready to run courses that develop skills needed for success in the Catering & Hospitality sector. These can be split into two categories: Professional Qualifications and Short Courses. Our full- and part-time Professional Qualification courses range from Level 1 through to Level 3, with some progressing to Higher Education. Subjects include: Allergens Food Safety Health & Safety Leadership & Management Computing & IT Accounting Many of our Short Courses help develop specialist skills for employment in the industry, including: Cake Decoration Techniques Customer Service First Aid As well as delivering ready to run short courses, we can adapt an existing course or create a new one to meet your business needs. This option is more flexible in terms of course content, and the training can be delivered at your premises for greater convenience. I truly believe that the training and experience Penney gained during her time as an Apprentice at Bolton College accelerated her into the supervisory position she now holds with us.
