From the Principal s Desk Thursday 21st July 2016 Student Led Conferences Our Student Led Conferences were a resounding success once again. Feedback from parents, students and teachers has been very positive. The conferences provide an opportunity for our students to take responsibility for their own learning, actions and decisions. Another important aspect of asking students to lead the conferences is acknowledging the value placed on their views and respect we have for their insights on learning. We would like to congratulate our students on their efforts in these conferences and thank you as parents and carers for the important role that you play in the education of your children. Athletics Days Unfortunately the weather was not on our side for our Junior and Senior Athletics Day, which we had to cancel today. Mr D and the teachers are already busy rescheduling both events for another day in what is turning out to be a very busy term! We will notify families regarding a new date as soon as possible. Friends of LOTE Breakfast On Wednesday the 27th of July, we will be hosting a Friends of LOTE Breakfast between 8:00am and 8:45am in the LOTE Room (Year 5/6 building). This breakfast will also be an opportunity to hear about the basics of our camp program in Terms 3 and 4. There will be students, parents and our LOTE teacher Shu He on hand to help with translation in different languages regarding questions or queries that you might have. Tea and coffee will be provided, please bring a plate of food to share. We look forward to seeing you there. Term 3 Concerts We have an exceptionally busy and exciting term ahead with performances. Beginning on the 27 th of July, we have the Foundation Circus. On the 4 th and 5 th of August, our senior school will be performing the Lion King at Doncaster Secondary College. On the 8 th of August the Year 1/2 concert will be held at Balwyn High School. Finally, on the 16 th of August the 3/4 Circus will be held at Balwyn High School. To avoid disappointment, please make sure you keep an eye out for information! Erika Bienert Principal Tony Stokes Assistant Principal
