JOB DESCRIPTION Post Title: Employer: Responsible To: HR Advisor (ER) Hafod Corporate Services Ltd HR Manager MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE POST To provide a proactive, customer focussed HR support service to managers and staff across the Hendre Group in line with organisational policies, procedures, legal compliance and best practice. To work flexibly and contribute to continuous improvement of services provided by the Department. To develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with service areas, partners, colleagues and outside bodies. To contribute to the development and delivery of specified HR projects and strategies, with a willingness to get involved. PRINCIPAL DUTIES To provide an advisory and information service and practical assistance covering areas such as: Policies and procedures Structural and staffing reorganisation Disciplinary Hearings and Grievances Terms and conditions of service Performance and absence management Management induction & development Employment Relations TUPE Coaching and Mentoring Recruitment and talent acquisition Employment Law and Compliance HR Metrics
Employee Relations/Employment Law & Compliance 1. Provide specialist case management guidance to managers and employees, including advising on the interpretation and application of policies, procedures and legislation. 2. Analyse and assess employee relations situations such as, competence and capability, redeployment and redundancy, disciplinary cases and Grievances, etc. and work with managers to consider the options and implications of managerial interventions in relation to these issues. 3. To provide advice regarding the legal/hr implications of OD, service redesign and reorganisation, and ensure proper consultation and process is carried out. Talent Acquisition 4. Assist the HR manager in the development of a talent acquisition strategy by: Considering HR and Recruiting Technology Reviewing pre-candidate engagement how we source and attract talent Agreeing recruitment strategies Defining the Hafod offer Reviewing and aligning the recruitment process to re-branding and the job offer 5. To work with the Senior Management Team to promote Hafod s reputation as employer of choice and Hafod s employer brand. 6. To develop, roll out and continually review corporate on-boarding and induction programmes Sickness Absence 7. To drive an attendance management approach to enable the management of optimum attendance levels across the Group. 8. Assist and advise managers regarding individual sickness absence cases in accordance with the Group s policies and procedures. 9. To prepare regular and ad hoc management information reports, as agreed with service areas, to support continuous improvement in the management and monitoring of sickness absence and performance management. 10. To review and monitor the Group s sickness absence approach in line with legislation and best practice. HR Records/Procedures/Functions 11. To oversee the issue of variations to contract and associated documentation and ensure correct action is taken in respect of staff changes.
12. To provide management information on all key performance indicators. 13. Ensure changes in salaries, commencements of employment, termination of employment, maternity and sick pay and any other changes concerning the calculation of the monthly payroll are actioned in a timely and accurate manner, in collaboration with payroll. 14. To assist with and advise on the development, maintenance and monitoring of HR policies, procedures and practices as required Organisational Development 15. To assist with or have experience of working with transformational change projects ie culture change projects around behaviours and values, or improvement and performance projects around employee engagement. General Responsibilities 16. To participate in appropriate projects and tasks including those which may be multifunctional and multi-disciplinary eg equal pay reviews, job evaluation, quality standards, employee engagement, health and wellbeing etc. 17. To assist with the design and delivery of a range of HR related workshops for line managers and supervisors. 18. To ensure that the Group complies with employment legislation and regulatory requirements at all times, by ensuring policies and procedures are fit for purpose and relevant. 20. Act as the Group s representative at external meetings relating to HR issues and initiatives as appropriate. 21. To ensure that Hafod complies with current employment legislation and regulatory requirements. 22. To keep updated on legislative changes in employment regulations and advise management accordingly. 23. To assist in other duties/tasks which the HR department may from time to time require to be carried out. 24. To behave in accordance with the Associations values. 25. To co-operate with the Hendre Group in complying with relevant health and safety legislation, policies and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post. 26. To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.

PAY AND CONDITIONS: HR Advisor (Employee Relations) 1. The salary for this position will be in the range of Circa 27,000 per annum, dependent on experience. 2. The hours of work will be 36 per week, as agreed with management. Please note that the Association reserves the right to alter the arrangement of these hours if it is in the best interests of the Association to do so. 3. Your minimum paid holiday entitlement will be 26 days per annum plus bank and public holidays. In addition to the basic entitlement, staff with more than two years' continuous service at the beginning of the leave year will qualify for one additional day's leave for each following complete year of service up to a maximum of ten working days [pro rata for part time staff]. 4. You will be required to be in possession of a current valid driving licence and provide your own car. You will be reimbursed for mileage undertaken on the Association's business under the Fixed Profit Car Scheme under which the Association can pay tax free mileage allowance. For 2015/16 this allowance is 45p per mile for the first 10,000 miles and 25p per mile thereafter. 5. Employees are entitled to join the Association's company pension scheme after three months employment with the Association [Employer contribution 10%; employee contribution 2%]. 6. Upon appointment you will become a member of the Association's group life insurance scheme which entitles your next of kin to receive a sum of money equal to twice annual salary in the event of your death whilst an employee of the Association. 7.
