This will include driving traffic to various digital platforms using a variety of digital marketing techniques to promote, engage, deliver and measure impact of projects and campaigns. 3 Key result areas Website Working with colleagues across the business, ensure that content on the IOSH website is objective, fresh, accurate, relevant to audience, reflects stakeholder expectation and business need, and provides recognisable value, reflecting IOSH status as a global leader in occupational safety and health. To execute the purpose, functionality, structure, navigation, content management and design of the IOSH website, and ensure its effective operation and integration with IOSH back office systems. To escalate support issues to management both internally and, where appropriate, externally to our partner agencies, ensuring that we get a speedy resolution to any issues raised. To be responsible for the delivery of website content and discussion forums for members, staff and the general public in a responsive, helpful and timely way. To create new web pages and web content according to editorial and house style guidelines. To support staff throughout the website publishing process, including web copy writing, proofreading, editing, image preparation (liaising with the Promotional, Advertising and Design {PAD} team) and uploading of text, images and files via the immediacy content management system (CMS), in line with the content marketing strategy processes. To obtain and monitor user feedback and carry out user research by regular monitoring of interactive areas of the website, such as forums and links, and contributing to the design, creation and analysis of user polls and the collation of user feedback of all kinds. To promote consistency of approach to content development, online brand/corporate narrative, tone of voice, language use, general look and feel and compliance to best practice. To work with business owners and content authors to ensure that content meets its objectives, is optimised, accessible, usable, well maintained, current and accurate. To be responsible for the continual planning, development and review cycle of the website and CMS (content layout, templates, styles) to ensure that they meet the needs of IOSH users and website users and comply with best practice. Online Communities 1

Brand Responsible for the research, development and implementation phases for the online communities project bringing IOSH communities (social media platforms, forums, various websites, and latest news) together to increase member engagement. Using the intelligence gathered, make recommendations for inclusion within the website strategy and future recommendations and planning documents. To oversee the IOSH discussion forums. To support discussion forum moderators, co-ordinating recruitment and meetings in pursuit of a strong relationship. To develop training aids and help material for use and moderation of the forums including sticky posts, help pages and guides for existing or new moderators. Work with editing, marketing and design colleagues to plan and develop site content, style and appearance ensuring the brand is promoted in a clear and strong way, allowing for accessibility and usability expectations in the user journey to be exceeded and the user experience to be enhanced following digital brand guidelines. Work with project teams to enhance the responsiveness of the site, tailored portals, discussion forums and other online community benefits, producing results in line with IOSH Brand Guidelines and against agreed project plans managed through the Project Management Framework. Email Marketing Activate and maximise digital marketing opportunities in Sitecore s Digital Marketing Suite. Working with marketing colleagues to deliver effective programmes of activity. Search Engine Marketing Analyse meta data and make recommendations for improvements and testing to support improved search engine positioning with key players and to proactively maintain top ranking positions. To monitor and report on search engine ratings and external websites on a regular basis in line with website and e-marketing strategies. Communications Working closely with the Media team, repurpose content for email communications and web content to fully support the wider marketing project plans and campaigns to ensure that messaging is consistent and in line with the IOSH narrative and has impact with chosen audiences. Feedback to colleagues the impact of their communications and work to continuously improve and evolve. PPC Advertising Using Google AdWords, Remarketing, LinkedIn sponsored updates to support and maximise marketing campaign coverage to boost ROI and user interaction. Engage and collaborate with the PAD Manager and Head of Communications and Media to integrate advertising and editorial campaigns. Reporting, Analytics, Projects and Processes Live reporting, daily updates, weekly reviews, project and campaign reporting, monthly trend analysis. Support internal communications and the dissemination of marketing activity progress and results to various stakeholders. Proactively manage risk throughout the lifecycle of each project, identifying issues and devising solutions or contingency plans. Define project scopes, goals and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with the Web Manager and other internal stakeholders. Develop and maintain full-scale project plans in consultation with the Client Marketing Projects Coordinator and all associated documentation and liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis through structured communications. Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of your role. Set and continually manage project expectations with the Client Marketing Projects Co-ordinator, team members and other stakeholders. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path, and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools in collaboration with the Client Marketing Projects Co-ordinator. Develop and deliver weekly progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, recommendations and presentations to the Web Manager and other relevant stakeholders. 2

Conduct project post mortems and create a lessons learned report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements. To support the collation and presentation of monthly marketing reports highlighting the impacts and results our activities are making. To support the testing of new campaigns/projects to ensure that the end user s needs are met and the business has the visibility to measure success, gain insight to support continual improvement, reduce engagement barriers and maximise ROI. To co-ordinate project meetings and internal planning sessions across the business as needed, focusing on building relationships and good working practices. To build processes and best practice documentation around activity to support our ISO 9001 management standards certification, and to recommend improvements against strategy developments. Content Marketing To support the cataloguing of all content across IOSH online against a defined purpose, updating and maintaining the catalogue so that it meets the expectations of the audiences, is provided in a manner that is engaging and is fit for purpose, but also structured and positioned appropriately. To support the maintenance of the online content inventory to ensure that content is continually evolving in line with strategy. To be a guide to those who need assistance, providing advice to the business on all online content and functional issues as needed to ensure that return on investment can be, and is measured against objectives set through the strategy and planning process. To work closely with the Media team to ensure best use of and support for social media channels for both internal and external communications in line with the content marketing strategy and processes. To police IOSH s web content standards and monitor/improve the accessibility of IOSH s online presence. To ensure web-based information is archived and retrievable for future reference in line with IOSH s LMS and Competency Framework. Other Advise on and provide support to key stakeholders around the business regarding current and emerging technologies, best practice implementations, emerging digital marketing updates, Legislation compliance To support the Business Systems team with testing of all new web development, applications or upgrades, and development of the IOSH intranet. To undertake a variety of external activities including attending exhibitions, conferences, network events and business meetings to promote IOSH, its membership opportunities and professional development requirements. To ensure the health, safety and welfare of yourself and other colleagues with the Web team. To carry out any other duties within the remit of this role as requested by the Web Manager. 4 Qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills and training Qualifications A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject e.g. Digital Marketing, e-marketing, Marketing, Marketing Communications, Website Design, Business, English essential. An Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing (IDM) qualification or equivalent desirable. Knowledge (all essential unless otherwise noted) To have excellent working knowledge and experience of Sitecore CMS, or alternatively other object based content management systems. To have excellent demonstrable understanding of online technologies and website structures. To have an excellent demonstrable understanding of online communications and engagement technologies. To have understanding of individual browsers, the advantages and limitations of existing versions. To have significant understanding of W3C WCAG2 and key principles of accessibility and usability. To have understanding of the key principles of marketing, online promotion and the commonly used digital media and relevant websites/channels. To have knowledge of the data protection act and other relevant legislation - desirable. To have understanding of project management principles and experience of applying these 3

Technically competent with any/all of the following software and systems: Pencil, Axure (wireframing tool), Google Analytics, SiteImprove (website tracking and clean up), Email automation tools, CRM desirable. The job-holder should be willing to undertake any relevant training/qualifications necessary to fulfil the role. 5 Job context As the IOSH organisation continues to grow in influence around the world, the role of the website as a communication channel and as an operational support platform changes daily. This role is based in the Web function of the Marketing Department. Working alongside other members of the Web Team to develop and deliver IOSH services and information online, this serves to support a growing demand for content, coupled with an expansion of awareness and interest from organisational stakeholders who will visit the website to engage with IOSH s activities across its charitable remit. This role will predominantly focus on enabling online customer engagement and market communications via the website and other online technologies, in order to help promote and support the IOSH brand, but also to enhance user experience and develop additional value for our stakeholders around the world. 4

As required, this role will handle simple and complex enquiries from customers, volunteers, members and employees on a wide range of web issues and provide guidance and support to the team. In addition, this role will also work with other people within the marketing function, specifically in relation to the corporately adopted social media and email marketing tools. In order to develop world-class web pages, features and functionality to support IOSH, content creators will ensure that IOSH systematically implements appropriate, up to date functionality that is optimised, appropriate, integrates with current online tools and subsequently meets its objectives online. Whilst origination of content typically takes place in the communications and media function, this role has responsibilities for enhancing the website through content development aligned with the IOSH corporate narrative. The alignment of content with the IOSH brand proposition contributes to the consistent messaging received by stakeholders around the world and, done well, provides the clarity for visitors encouraging them to engage with the organisation, return and recommend to others. 6 Job dimensions This role is principally one of collaboration and impact measurement acting as a co-ordinator, promoter, implementer and feedback provider to colleagues in the Marketing Department, and other key stakeholders. The job-holder will act as a champion for IOSH brand, digital and editorial guidelines, for Plain English writing, and copy and materials that are engaging, accessible and targeted accurately at the end user. On occasion, the job-holder will represent IOSH membership at events and meetings as required. This may include some travel and overnight stays. This role has no direct reports and no budget responsibility. 7 Complexity and creativity The job-holder will be required to think independently on a daily basis, manage their own priorities, and to use their initiative in planning work, problem solving or tailoring solutions. The job-holder is not only required to analyse data but must have the ability to be able to provide insight back to the business to enhance decision-making. The IOSH website is substantial and multi-faceted. Stakeholder interest is high, both from within Divisional functions and amongst members and receives a high level of visitors looking for training and non-members seeking advice. Maintaining consistency throughout requires both analytical and creative competencies. The job-holder will need to confidently contribute to planning and take the lead in resolving some problem situations. The job by nature has a strong analytical and project management element. The implementation and maintenance of an effective process that provides confidence that internal stakeholder requirements will be met on time and to budget is fundamental to success. The job-holder will be required to liaise with managers and co-workers in the other divisions of IOSH providing support and information when requested and seeking support and information in order to deliver to critical objectives. 8 Decision making Initiative will be required for general proactive self-management of individual duties. The job-holder will need to decide the most efficient and appropriate approach where providing advice and guidance to colleagues and to member stakeholders. These decisions will be based on content and editorial guidelines, established best practice and corporate policy and procedures. The job-holder will be directly involved in the creation and maintenance of formal documentation for internal and external stakeholders. The job-holder will contribute to strategic analysis and will be forthcoming with input to staff at all levels when asked for help to make a decision. The job-holder will be required to make decisions and take responsibility for activities on a daily basis. This includes approving simple communications plans, promotional copy, content plans, functional specifications, and project briefs. The job-holder must be able to use judgement to escalate decisions on complex issues, requests that are not within the project planner or are at odds with brand and narrative 5

guidelines. 9 Key internal and external contacts Internal contacts o The job-holder will have daily contact with colleagues within the Web Team. o The job-holder will have extensive contacts with colleagues across the business, including management. In particular, the Web Manager, the PAD Manager, the Head of Communications and Media, the Client Marketing Projects Co-ordinator and the Web Projects Manager. o All internal departments for developing content, implementing marketing activities and achieving project goals to their requirements. External contacts o The job-holder will also have contact with IOSH members in a wide variety of roles. o The job-holder will have contact with a range of external suppliers and stakeholders dependent on the project activities they undertake and outsource contracts.
