JOB DESCRIPTION Post Title: School: Department: Salary: Responsible to: Fundraising Coordinator The Bridge School School Business Management SO1 Executive Head Teacher Purpose of the Job: To contribute to all aspects of fundraising on behalf of The Bridge School in line with the Fundraising Working Group. To develop and implement a strategy and successful initiatives for maximising income from fundraising. To ensure that fundraising income targets are realised or surpassed within defined timescales. To be responsible for creating and maintaining key relationships with supporters. To have oversight and project management of fundraising events held on behalf of the school. Fundraising: 1. To prepare fundraising marketing materials to promote the Bridge Charity to potential and current donors, parents and staff. 2. To identify potential funding opportunities (including grants, trusts and donors) and prepare the required submissions 3. Arrange for tours of the Sites, visits by prospective donors and thank you events 4. To maintain accurate fundraising records including accounts and lists of donors 5. To manage the fundraising budget with support from the School Business Manager; ensure the Charity accounts are audited each year; draft the Annual Report on behalf of the Trustees. 6. To gather the views of parents and staff and involve them in fund raising activities 7. Research suitable funding streams, providing information and insight on opportunities and producing high-quality written submissions
8. To maintain relationships and maximise all opportunities with current supporters. 9. To develop and meticulously organise a range of fundraising opportunities and events distributed throughout the year. 10. To thoroughly research and appropriately approach companies for gifts in kind and events sponsorship. 11. To attend meetings with potential donors as appropriate and to deliver presentations and proposals to a high standard to secure funding. 12. To contribute to the fundraising section of the website, ensuring it is relevant, up to date, informative and attractive to potential and current supporters. 13. To record all relevant communication on the Raiser s Edge database and to ensure that information held on the database and in paper records is accurate and up-to-date. 14. To devise, implement and manage a comprehensive ongoing donor care programme. 15. To write and produce timely and appropriate corporate grant applications, appeal letters and update reports. 16. To be aware of charity law and tax efficient giving and its impact on fundraising. To ensure that The Bridge works within the confines of the law and to maximise all cost effective giving opportunities. To be aware of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the IoF codes of practice. 17. To play an active part in the life of The Bridge. 18. To report on work undertaken and income secured and carry out any other reasonable tasks as required by the Executive Headteacher 19. To be responsible for efficient administration and maintenance of the fundraising database and respond to general enquiries concerning donations Personal Responsibilities 1. 5. Flexibility will be required in relation to working hours as some events may occur during the weekends or after 5pm. Performance Standards 1. 13. Demonstrate that you have experience of generating substantial voluntary income. 14. Experience/ Knowledge of the SEN sector. 15. Direct practical experience of working with children and young people with special needs 16. Qualifications relevant to the post 17. Experience of researching market trends in terms of data analysis will be advantageous. Personal qualities Essential 18.
