Nakiska Safety Nakiska and Resorts of the Canadian Rockies make every effort to ensure our ski resort meets the required safety guidelines for extracurricular activities, as outlined by the Canada West Ski Areas Association and school boards. 1.Helmets: All students on school sanctioned ski trips are required to wear helmets while participating in an instructional program. Nakiska provides complimentary helmets as part of the rental package. 2. Trained Staff: Nakiska instructors are accredited by one of the internationally recognized governing bodies for ski/snowboard Instructors. Additional training has been provided to ensure the instructors are familiar with the specific needs of school groups and the safety regulations governing school trips. 3. Lessons: School group lessons at Nakiska include safety and instructional components. Our programs are designed to address the specific skills required to participate in and enjoy a ski or snowboard day in the mountains. During the lessons our instructors are responsible for the supervision of the students. 2

GROUP BOOKING POLICIES, TERMS AND CONDITIONS Group rates and general information: School groups rates/prices are valid for all elementary to secondary level schools and universities. All groups must be pre-booked in order to receive school group rates. School groups are to consist of a minimum of 15 participants to qualify for group rates and be on the same agenda. School groups that have less than 8 students booked on lessons will not be eligible for group lesson rates One complimentary adult chaperone lift ticket will be issued for every 10 tickets purchased. Full packages include; full day lift ticket, full rental package, complimentary helmets for students rental only. Confirmations: confirmation of numbers for lift tickets, lessons, rentals and or packages will be required 3 weeks in advance. please complete accurately the group information and booking form email to: groupsales@skinakiska.com ***final numbers must be reconfirmed 48-hours prior to the school groups arrival.*** Payment: All school groups must pay with one payment. Full payment is required/preferred on the day of the school groups visit. If no payment is made on the day of your trip, we are able to invoice for payment if a credit card imprint is taken as back up by the Nakiska group sales department. Payment will be required no later than 2 weeks after the trip date. We accept: MasterCard, Amex, Visa, Debit card, Cash, and Cheques. Cheques should be made payable to: Nakiska ski resort 7

CANCELLATION POLICY Food and beverage: Any school group completely canceling within the 72-hour time period will be charged 50% of the booked food service for their visit. Dining arrangements cancelled within 24 hours of arrival will be charged 100% of the booked food service for their visit. Final numbers for your school groups dining arrangements must be confirmed 48-hours prior to your groups arrival. Billing for the school group will be based on the guaranteed number or actual numbers whichever is the greater. Other services (lift tickets, lessons and rentals): Any group completely canceling within 48-hours of scheduled arrival will be charged 50% of the service for the visit including lift tickets, rentals and lessons. Any group on the day of arrival that has not informed Nakiska group sales of significant changes or any reduction in numbers will be charged 100% of the service for the visit including lift tickets, rentals and lessons. 8

DAY OF ARRIVAL PROCEDURES Please arrive 1.5 hours prior to lesson time. Please notify the resort of any delays in your departure. Arrival by bus: School bus arrives in Nakiska circle drive (where the flag poles are). The designated school group leader is to report into guest services office and ask for a representative from the group sales department. At this stage it is very important that the students/teachers/chaperones remain on the bus until ski patrol has delivered the safety talk. The group sales manager or coordinator will meet the school group leader in guest services with lift tickets and all required information including rental location and procedure, lesson time and location and lunch time and location (if requested). (Nakiska group manager or coordinator will contact ski patrol who will go to your bus and deliver the safety brief to the students/teachers and chaperones.) After the safety talk, the school group leader is to distribute the tickets to each student/teacher/chaperone, skiing or snowboarding. The school group leader will then lead the students etc into the day lodge to establish a meeting place. The students can then put their gear on (base layers, sweaters, snow pants, etc.) And store their belongings in the day lockers or day lodge area. (Nakiska ski area are not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items) Snow pants on before entering rental department. Individual arrival: The school group leader should arrive 30 minutes prior to the students arrival time and check in at the guest services office located in the ticketing and administration building. Students are to meet at the far end of the day lodge to acquire lift tickets, get organized with the group, and drop off lunches, bags, and any extra clothing at this location. (Nakiska ski area are not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items). As per the last 2 bullet points for arrival by bus. 9

DAY OF ARRIVAL PROCEDURES CONT. Process for rental equipment: The school group leader will lead students to rentals. Please remain outside of the rental shop until a rental shop rep has given the group clearance to enter. Line the students up in ability levels, with level 1 s going in first in groups of 10. To the left of the front entrance in the aluminum frames are the students names listed with a corresponding numbers for pre-set rental fittings. The students must remember their number. Adult chaperones are to assist the students in finding their number before they enter the shop to ensure a smooth and orderly process. Once inside the rental shop, the students will give their designated number to a rental shop representative who will lead the student through the boot, ski or snowboard, helmet, and sign out areas. Helmets are required for all students and are included in the rental package price. Adult helmets may be rented for a small additional fee. Lesson meeting place: The lesson meeting area is located immediately outside the back door of the rental shop. The school group leader is to be present at the rear exit for rentals to inform the ski school supervisor of any students that are absent, ill or require special needs. The snow school instructors will be present and flags are placed into the snow, establishing the locations for lesson groups, the snow school instructors will place the students in each group according to ability levels (1-5) based on the information provided on the school group rental information form (ratio 1 instructor : 10 students ). End of day procedures: After the participants have completed their day of skiing the school group leader will meet them at the lesson meeting area rear of the rental building to begin returning their all equipment. Please ensure there is sufficient time to return the equipment at the end of the day, prior to departure (approximately ½ hour is required, no later 4:30pm). Additional fees may be charged if not all equipment is returned 10

DAY OF ARRIVAL PROCEDURES GENERAL INFORMATION **IMPORTANT ** Emergency contacts: The school group leader is required to submit their name and an emergency contact number(s) for the day of the school trip. School group leader responsibilities: Know how many people are in your group. Oversee proper supervision of all students in the group at all times. Check in with the Nakiska group sales manager or coordinator at the administration office upon arrival. Group leaders are required to have all student emergency contact information with them at all times at the resort. Meet with the Nakiska group sales manager or coordinator to acquire lift tickets, reconcile invoice(s), and finalize payment. Chaperone responsibilities: Supervise students at all times on the mountain and in the ALL facilities. One chaperone from each group is required to remain in the day lodge at the designated group meeting area at all times in order to provide the students with a check in point should an issue arise. Assist with rentals, lift ticket distribution, and escorting the students around the base area. Chaperones are required at the rental shop to organize the students. Assist snow school instructors with dividing the students according to ability levels and provide any additional help that may be required during the lesson. Provide assistance at the rental shop during rental returns at the end of the day. Provide assistance for bus loading and departure 11

DAY OF ARRIVAL PROCEDURES GENERAL INFORMATION CONT. Lift tickets: Each person participating in skiing / snowboarding is required to wear a valid lift ticket at all times. The lift ticket must be visible and placed on an article of clothing that will be worn for the duration of the trip. You will be charged for all used lift tickets. If someone should lose or misplace a lift ticket, they must notify their chaperone or school group leader, who must report to the Nakiska group sales manager or coordinator at the administration/guest services office to acquire a new lift ticket Lift ticket control and restricted lift access may be used to prevent students from accessing terrain that is beyond their ability levels. For more details, contact your Nakiska group sales manager or coordinator. Please return any unused lift tickets to the Nakiska group sales manager or coordinator by 12pm. A statement of charges incurred may be picked up at 2pm. If unused lift tickets are not returned we are unable to refund them. Clothing: Clothing should be layered to adapt to winter weather changes with the head, hands, and feet well protected. We advise participants to wear the following items: Warm, water-resistant jacket - warm, water-resistant pants - warm, water-resistant gloves Sweater / fleece / jacket - neck tube or turtleneck sweater - long underwear - warm socks Goggles (Nakiska does not rental goggles) or sunglasses sunscreen - lip protection - toque or hat Helmets are included with student rental / lesson package If the student is not dressed adequately for the weather conditions, the ski school supervisor or instructor has the right to refuse the student to participate in the lesson. Note: ***Nakiska retail store is open and has ski/snowboard items for sale*** 12
