1.Graduate Database Trainee Adactus is recruiting a Graduate Database Trainee. At Adactus, we are very proud of the staff who work for us. While an interest in social housing is useful previous experience in this area is not required. What is essential is that you are an analytical, numerate, driven individual with the ambition of forging a career in data and information management. We expect our Graduate Data Management candidates to have a minimum of a 2:1 degree in any subject (or be predicted a 2:1 or higher for 2016 graduates). You will need to show experience of databases. 2.Summary of the role During the 2 year graduate programme you will work within the Adactus I.T team and cover the following areas of data management: Database subject area Day-to-day database administration First/second line support Data manipulation using Excel, Access and SQL Data queries and views using Access and SQL Data visualisation using MS Office, Tableau & R Business analysis Database creation using Access and SQL Data science Data collection Example activities Creating new users Data entry Checking data integrity Monitoring database performance Receiving Help Desk queries Diagnosing issues Putting in place fixes Referring more complex faults to suppliers Monitoring supplier response Documenting common solutions and processes Cleansing databases Combining disparate data sets Supporting existing queries Building new queries to specification Supporting creation of visualisations Creating visualisations to interpret data sets Observing and interviewing users to understand requirements Documenting requirements Building or developing databases to meet specification Testing database developments Gathering and responding to user feedback on developments Applying machine learning techniques Interpreting machine learning outputs Designing mobile/web forms to meet specification Page 3
Data publication Data governance Web development (PHP, MySQL, HTML) Workflow creation (TaskCentre) Familiarity with legislative and regulatory framework regarding data collection, storage and usage. Preparing regulatory and contractual data returns. Throughout the programme, you will enjoy a tailored development plan with clear milestones, feedback and mentoring from our dedicated Enterprise & Funding Manager. We have offices in Manchester, Chorley and Leigh so although your base will be Leigh you may be expected to travel to our other offices, as required. Page 6
