Welcme Administer yur RmWizards frm ne lcatin The RmWizard Administrative Cnsle allws yu t administer all f the RmWizards in yur enterprise frm ne lcatin. It s a PC based applicatin that enables yu t Find all the RmWizards n yur netwrk (Firmware Versin 4.1 is required n the RmWizards t enable the Cnsle search functin t perate). Lgically grup yur RmWizards tgether n limits n number f grups r the number f RmWizards in a grup. Perfrm administrative peratins n multiple RmWizards at the same time such as: Select a master (already cnfigured RmWizard) and replicate its cnfiguratin ut t all ther selected RmWizards with ne peratin Upgrade the firmware/apply patches t all selected RmWizards with ne peratin Get status infrmatin n all yur RmWizards such as: See what units are currently ffline/experiencing prblems. See CPU Lading, Disk Usage and ther infrmatin n any selected RmWizard. View and capture lg files frm RmWizards
Abut this Manual This manual describes hw t use the RmWizard Administrative Cnsle, which helps yu better manage yur RmWizards. Setup f the RmWizard Administrative Cnsle Installatin The RmWizard Administrative Cnsle needs t be installed n a PC cmpatible cmputer, running windws XP r higher. System Hardware requirements are minimal, less than 50MB f disk space and 100MB r RAM. The RmWizard Administrative Cnsle uses.net, but installs all cmpnents that it needs. Simply run Setup.exe n yur PC t install the sftware. The RmWizard Administrative Cnsle Windw Each time yu execute RmWizard Administrative Cnsle.exe, yu are prmpted fr a passwrd. The default passwrd is rmwizard and can be changed in the Optins dialg. Enter the passwrd and the cnsle windw will appear.

Status tab view Shws the same infrmatin srted with RmWizards with issues at the tp f the
lists t make it easy t find what RmWizards are having prblems currently. Refresh buttn Refreshes the status f the RmWizards in the view. Right clicking n a grup r selected RmWizard brings up a right click menu with all f the ptins available fr administrating the RmWizards. Output Views Shws the varius utputs frm the RmWizard Administrative Cnsle. Web Page view Displays ne f three pages frm the RmWizard currently selected. This can be cnfigured via the View->Web Page menu item. The Reservatin page, the Hme page r the Frnt Panel f the RmWizard can be displayed in this windw. Output tab view Shws infrmatin n what the RmWizard Administrative Cnsle is ding and any issues that may have ccurred. Prperty Views Errr tab view Shws nly errrs that have ccurred during peratins, t quickly lcate prblem units. Shws infrmatin abut a specific selected RmWizard. Cnfiguratin tab view Cntains infrmatin abut the RmWizard that can be edited directly in the tab such as the Rm Capacity, Time Zne, NTP server infrmatin, etc. Prperties tab view Cntains static infrmatin abut the RmWizards netwrk cnnectin, Serial Number, and installed Firmware versin.
Status tab view Cntains static infrmatin pulled frm the RmWizard such as the CPU, Memry and Driver status. Status bar Shws infrmatin n what the RmWizard Administrative Cnsle is currently ding, if lng peratin is in prgress, and the Cnsle versin number. Cnfiguratin f the RmWizard Administrative Cnsle On the first time use f the RmWizard Administrative Cnsle, the main ptins need t be set, and the RmWizard List needs t be setup. T cnfigure the main ptins, n the menu bar, select View->Optins t bring up the Optins dialg fr the RmWizard Administrative Cnsle. Fnt Settings: The fnt used in the applicatin, and the fnt size may be selected here. SSH Cmmand Settings The RmWizard Administrative Cnsle will pen a telnet sessin and lg yu in autmatically via the menus. Enter the path t yur favrite telnet client, and the default timeut used fr the telnet client. The default cmmand timeut is 15 minutes. Bradcast Settings The RmWizard Administrative Cnsle uses a bradcast t find RmWizards. Yu can custmize the search time and refresh times here. Email Server Settings The RmWizard Administrative Cnsle will email yu when there are prblems n a RmWizard. Use the cntrls here t setup email access fr the Cnsle. Applicatin Passwrd The passwrd t access the RmWizard Administrative cnsle can be changed here. The default passwrd after installatin is rmwizard.
Setup f RmWizard Lists Once the ptins have been set, the RW List needs t be cnfigured. Autmatic List Setup If yu are running firmware versin 4.1 with RmWizard II, r are running the RmWizard 10 3.5.2 update, yu can autmatically search yur netwrk fr all RmWizards via the Search->Search fr All Devices menu. The RmWizard Administrative Cnsle will prmpt yu fr the subnet and Netwrk that yu wish t search, and then bradcast n that subnet and await respnses frm the RmWizards. The RmWizard List will be autmatically ppulated with all the RmWizards under a Default Grup. Nte: The Default grup name cannt be changed, and all RmWizards fund in a search are autmatically added t the Default Grup. Manual List Setup If yu simply wish t add a new RmWizard t the list, r yur RmWizards are nt running the crrect firmware versin, yu can manually add the RmWizards t the list. T manually add a RmWizard, right click n any grup name in the Grups tab, and select List Maintenance -> Add Unit. Fill ut the dialg bx that cmes up, press OK and the RmWizard is added t the selected grup. Using the RmWizard Administrative Cnsle Once the RmWizards are in the RmWizard Administrative Cnsle, yu can begin administering them. All peratins are selected/initiated frm the Grups tab r Status tab via selecting the RmWizards t perate n, and right clicking. There are 8 menu items available via the Right Click menu: Access Certificates Firmware List Maintenance Lgfiles Replicate Set as Master Device Set Rt Passwrd
Nte: Yu must run Firmware 4.1 with RmWizard II s, and Firmware 3.5.2 with RmWizard 10 s t unlck all the features f the RmWizard Administrative Cnsle, including Searching and prperty retrieval. Hwever, yu can update firmware n units with lder firmware directly frm the RmWizard Administrative Cnsle. Nte: FTP, and Secure Telnet, are bth required t perate with the RmWizard Administrative Cnsle. These features are n by default n the RmWizards. Access Access menu items allw yu t d the fllwing n the selected RmWizard: Refresh the Prperties View s Prperties tab Refresh the Prperties View s Status tab Start yur web brwser n the RmWizards hme page Start yur telnet client n the RmWizard. Putty is an excellent free telnet client that perates well with the RmWizard Administrative Cnsle and RmWizard. Set the RmWizard t sync its clck via NTP Sync the RmWizards clck t yur PC s clck. Certificates The Certificates menu items allw yu t install new custm certificates int yur RmWizard. Add Certificate prmpts yu fr the Alias Name and the certificate itself t lad int the RmWizard. Firmware The Firmware menu allws yu t upgrade the firmware n the selected RmWizards. Nte: That the RmWizard Administrative Cnsle requires the firmware t be in cpi.tar.gz frmat. If the firmware file ends in cpi.tar.gz, it is the crrect frmat f firmware file. Rebt Unit (s) instructs the RmWizards t rebt. Rebuild Unit (s) instructs the RmWizard t restre its firmware this is the same as reinstalling the last full firmware update n the
unit. This shuld be used nly when units are exhibiting issues that aren t related t the cnfiguratin. Upgrade Firmware upgrades the firmware via ne f tw methds Via FTP Server The FTP path t the firmware file, and FTP credentials t lg int the ftp server that cntains the firmware are entered. A sample ftp path is ftp://ftp.steelcase.cm/firmwarefile.cpi.tar.gz. Nte: this is nt a wrking path, but nly an example. The RmWizard FTP s t the site directly t dwnlad and install the update. Via Lcal Hst The path t the firmware file is entered, Enter the user fr the RmWizard II is rt fr RmWizard 10 is backup. Enter the FTP User passwrd fr the RmWizard and uplads the firmware, Click OK and wait fr the RmWizard t installs the upgrade. Once the firmware upgrade is cmplete, details shw in the dialg fr each RmWizard that was upgraded including if it was successful upgraded r nt. List Maintenance These menu items allw fr custmizatin f the Lists f RmWizards. The ptins are: Add Grup A new High Level grup is added t the List. Add SubGrup A Subgrup is added t the selected grup.
Add Unit A new RmWizard is added t the grup Delete The selected Grup r RmWizard is remved frm the list. Nte: drag and drp RmWizards and Grups t rearrange the lists as required. Nte: the Default grup is fixed and cannt be renamed r remved. LgFiles The LgFiles menu allws yu t bth dwnlad all the lg files frm the selected units, as well as viewing individual lgs directly frm units. Dwnlad All Lgs will cllect all the lg files n the selected units and save them lcally. These lg files can be prvided t Steelcase Technical Supprt when issues arise. The rest f the menu items allw yu t directly view in a windw the fllwing lg files: Admin Lg Cncurrent Lg EndUser lg Epiphany lg Firmware Patches lg Frnt Panel Lg Jettystart Lg LcalHst lg Message lg Upgrade lg Replicate The Replicate menu, in cnjunctin with Set as Master Device belw, allw yu t select a master RmWizard, that the cnfiguratin is harvested frm, and then replicated ut t all selected RmWizards. Push Cnfiguratin reads the cnfiguratin f the Master Device, and duplicates it ut t every selected RmWizard. Nte that Netwrk cnfiguratin, and specific rm cnfiguratin such as
facilities and rm names are nt replicated, s RmWizards preserve the unique infrmatin. Push Partial Cnfiguratins pushes the NTP server address, the rt Passwrd, and new certificate infrmatin (if prvided) t all selected RmWizards. If a field is left blank in the dialg, that field is nt replicated t ther units. N master is required fr Partial Cnfiguratins. Set as Master Device Set as Master Device makes the currently selected RmWizard the master RmWizard. Its cnfiguratin can be pushed ut t ther RmWizards via the Replicate menu. Set Rt Passwrd Administratr can set same rt passwrd n multiple RmWizards in a single peratin via selecting them and selecting Set Rt Passwrd frm the menu. Hw T: Cnfigure a new RmWizard installatin. T setup a new installatin f RmWizards with the RmWizard Administrative Cnsle, perfrm the fllwing steps. 1) Install the RmWizards and pwer them up. 2) Search fr RmWizards via the Search->Search fr All RmWizard s menu item. 3) Select View->Administrative Page n the menu. 4) All the RmWizards will appear in the RmWizard List prperty tab. 5) Select ne RmWizard 6) Right click and select Access->Start Brwser 7) In the Brwser, click RmWizard Setup, and cnfigure the RmWizard as desired. 8) Clse the brwser 9) Right click n the cnfigured RmWizard and select Set as Master Device 10) Select the remaining RmWizards 11) Right click and select Replicate->Push Cnfiguratin All the units are nw cnfigured, and unique cnfiguratin can be added individually.
Best Practices Upgrade Firmware Upgrading firmware requires sending a new firmware file t every unit selected, which can be 150MB in size, t every RmWizard in an rganizatin. T ptimize firmware upgrades and minimize the amunt f time each upgrade takes, it is recmmended t break the RmWizards int grups, such as a grup per building, r facility. This bth reduces the lad n the netwrk and reduces the pssibility f failed dwnlads thrugh netwrk retries. With smaller grups being updated, the time required t perfrm the updates n the grup is reduced, and the verall lad is brken up fr bth the IT administratr and the netwrk. Nte: If FTP is disabled n the RmWizard units, firmware upgrades will nt wrk. FTP is required fr Firmware upgrades and patches. Gruping RmWizards by type It is recmmended t grup similar RmWizards tgether, i.e., keep RmWizard 10 s in ne grup and RmWizard II in anther grup. This will allw upgrading firmware n all RmWizard II and all RmWizard 10 s with nly tw peratins (ne fr each grup), withut having validated which units were updated and which need different firmware lads. Passwrd Handling As the firmware upgrade prcess requires RmWizard credentials, it is recmmended that all RmWizard II units share the same rt passwrd, and all RmWizard 10 units share the same rt passwrd. The RmWizard Administrative Cnsle can deal with unique passwrds n all RmWizards, but n firmware upgrades, each unit wuld need t have its passwrd entered, which can be very time cnsuming. RmWizard lists The File Menu ptin t save r relad different grupings f yur RmWizards can be used t maintain different views f yur netwrk. Yu may want ne list setup with a single grup t watch fr truble units, and anther list with lgical grupings t easily perfrm firmware upgrades, and yet a third with physical lcatin grupings.
