KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Performance Provide support as required to a high performing team to achieve DES KPIs and Key Employment Performance Targets. Deliver all services efficiently, effectively and ethically and in accordance with the Contract. Financials Support the team to achieve Key Employment financial targets through activities such as commencements, engagement, placements and outcomes. KEY DELIVERABLES Key Employment s Intern Employment Consultants work across all areas of our program in delivering outstanding services to all individuals. This includes job seeker engagement, accurate recording in IT systems, business meetings, employer engagement, resume building, and job placment monitoring. Interns are expected to learn quickly and to travel to other sites to fill in for absent staff and staff on leave. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES To actively participate in the team's delivery of services under the guidance of a senior case worker and a team leader. Interns are expected to learn all aspects of our work and will be trained to participate in initial interviews, skills assessments, contact regime, service review, participation reporting, intensive support activities and work experience. Interns are expected to develop competence in the tasks of job search, job maintenance, job coach, skills development, community connections and marketing. Maintain a high level of customer service and focus. Acquire, develop and maintain a high level knowledge and skills in Employment Services and the DSS IT System. Attend meetings that may include travel outside of normal working hours. Adhere to WHS Association responsibilities Other duties as required to meet operational needs. JOB SPECIFICATION INTERN EMPLOYMENT CONSULTANT The position of Intern Employment Consultant is currently based on the Labour Market Assistance Industry Award 2010 (LMAIA). The actual terms of employment are varied according to experience and skills. Mandatory: Empathy and understanding of the culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people Positive perception of and a well developed empathy with people with disability and people who are disadvantaged in the labour market including people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds. Experience and/or training in Youth Work Ability to keep concise and meaningful records Ability to commit to client confidentiality. Ability to write clear reports High level of demonstrated ability and experience in use of Windows based PC with Microsoft products and email. Understanding of the needs of business Experience in customer service Excellent communication skills. High level computer skills Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, work independently and contribute to the culture of a happy hard working team including evidence of hard work dedication and commitment to achieve excellent results. Formal qualifications in Youth Work, Welfare, Psychology, Physical Movement, Business and Commerce will be highly regarded as will Cert IV in Training and Assessment.
