Visitors can cover their shopping needs at the many shops and boutiques found at the peninsula s largest shopping mall, as well as at the many other stores in the city of Brekstad. Several historic tourist attractions make Ørland an interesting place to visit. Travelling to and from Ørland Daily roundtrip flights between Ørland and Oslo. Automobile ferries crossing the Trondheim fjord leave every 30 minutes during peak hours (every 60 minutes the rest of the day). Passenger ferries to Trondheim arrive and depart 8 times per day during the workweek. Some of these connect to the islands of Hitra and Frøya as well as the city of Kristiansund. Distances in time: Trondheim: 1 hour with passenger ferry. Slightly above 2 hours with car (and ferry) Oslo: 1 hour to Gardermoen via aircraft. 8 hours with car (and ferry). Værnes International airport: 2.5 hours with car (and ferry). 2 hours with passenger ferry and airport shuttle. Thanks to the short commute, many live in Ørland, but work or study in Trondheim and vice versa.
