Bergen s most popular attraction The Fløibanen funicular in Bergen is one of the most famous attractions in Norway and the only funicular of its kind in the country. It runs from the city centre to the top of Mount Fløyen in just six minutes, and the ride is an experience in itself. The ride starts at the lower station, right in the heart of the city, just 150 metres from Bryggen and the Fish Market. We took the Funicular (cable railway) to the top of Mount Floyen. It was a fun and picturesque experience. The ride down was even better with the stunning views we got from the wagon windows of the downwards slope. The setting on top is done up well, we got an overview of the town from the viewing platforms, there were playgrounds for kids, free Wi-Fi, cafes, people were making animal balloons and distributing to kids. FløyenKids The best play area in Bergen The colourful play area is situated just beside the Fløibanen funicular Top station. Let the children enjoy themselves on the climbing frame and shriek with delight on the slides and swings. The Troll trail right behind the play area is an obstacle course with many fun challenges for slightly older children. The Troll trail is right next to our play area. Nature trail The nature trail is a family walk, a walk with built-in tasks to solve at ten different places along the trail. A new nature trail is composed every quarter, with tasks suited to the season. Trollskogen wood and Fløysletten Go on a journey of discovery and play among the trolls in Trollskogen wood. Make use of the shelter and barbecue facilities at Fløysletten.
FløyenAktiv Excellent walking terrain Mount Fløyen is a fantastic starting point for walks, runs and bike rides in Bergen s mountains. The terrain and walking trails are very varied and there are countless paths that crisscross each other in the area around Mount Fløyen. A walking map with 10 inspiring walks for both children and adults is available on our website floyen.no Canoes for use free of charge Just a short 10-minute walk from the play area at Mount Fløyen lies the small lake called Skomakerdiket. Here, from 11.00 to 15.00 every day from 27 June to 16 August, you can borrow canoes, paddles and flotation vests free of charge. Picnic shelters The shelters make good destinations in themselves, where you can watch birds and enjoy a packed lunch. They are also good places to seek shelter if it starts raining.

Fløien Folkerestaurant At the Fløibanen Funicular Top station - 320 metres above sea level - you will find Fløien Folkerestaurant, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Opening hours From May to September 2016, the café is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00, and the Brasseriet restaurant is open from 17:00 to 22:00.
