RIVERBOAT CRUISE ON THE TRACKS OF TIMBER RAFTING ( :15) Mon, Wed, Fri & Sun Once upon a time there were many logs floating on the rivers of Kemijoki and Ounasjoki. Embark on the riverboat cruise and come to learn more about the timber rafting. We will cruise along the two famous rivers which used to be the route for the timber out of the woods to the mills. This excursion back to the old time will also give you the chance to admire the beautiful surroundings and Lappish nature. Duration 45 minutes Price 41/person 2. RIVERBOAT CRUISE TO A REINDEER FARM ( ) Tue & Thu Come for a boat cruise along a traditional log-floating route to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the valleys of the Ounasjoki and Kemijoki rivers. Travel through serene landscapes in a long wooden riverboat and experience the summer of the Arctic Circle. Later, you ll learn about herding practices while visiting a reindeer farm. Your adventure begins with a refreshing cruise on a traditional riverboat along the Kemijoki and Ounasjoki rivers. A visit to the home of Lappish family and their workshop is the first stop on our cruise. After this, the riverboat will take you to a local reindeer farm, where you can learn about Lappish culture and reindeer rearing. Enjoy a delicious Lappish lunch and participate in a ceremonial crossing of the Arctic Circle during your visit to the farm. In the afternoon, the tour continues by car to the Santa Claus Village for a meeting with Mr. Claus himself, after which you have a chance to do some shopping before returning to the city. Duration 6 hours Price 153/person 4. HUSKY HIKING On request with min. 2 adults Hiking with the huskies is the fantastic way to get to know about Lappish nature! First you will be driven to the local husky farm where dogs will welcome you with friendly barking. The dogs which are going to hike with us are ready to go just after the guide has told special information about those dogs. You get to know names of the dogs, what special skills they might have, where they are living in the farm etc. Then it s time to hike! Route is easy to hike and takes about 20-30min. By route you will see woods, plants, flowers, berries etc. maybe some birds and little animals. After hiking, first is time to award our furry hiking friends and give them some food. MIDNIGHT SUN EXPERIENCE ( ) Tue, Thu & Sat Our evening begins with a restful cruise on a traditional long and open riverboat along River Kemijoki, which is surrounded by beautiful summer scenery. A local-style evening meal will be prepared by your guide in the middle of nature. Before midnight, you ll be driven to the top of Ounasvaara Fell to admire the fascinating midnight sun and the tranquil nature. Then we raise a toast for the magical feeling of the white nights of Lapland with a glass of sparkling wine. You will be escorted back to your hotel after the program. WELLNESS FROM LAPPISH NATURE (9:30-12:30) Mon & Fri Trekking, berry picking, fishing and silence of clean Lappish nature Our guide will meet you at the meeting point and after receiving a proper clothing for the nature trip we head by car to the forest area close to Rovaniemi Centre. Our experienced guide leads us to the world of berries and mushrooms; depending of the season we are picking cloudberries, blueberries, lingonberries or cranberries. After picking this Lappish superfood it is time to relax and have a well-earned break by an open fire and prepare traditional pancakes. Before heading back to city we can try our luck in fishing while experiencing the silence of nature.
