Speaker Profiles Dr Michael Elwell Global Research Director, Core Research, Advanced Materials Division, Huntsman Advanced Materials AG Mike was born in Manchester, 1968. He graduated from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) with a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Polymer Science in July 1990 and a Ph.D in Polymer Science (Reactive Polymer Processing) in October 1993. From October 1993-95 he served as a lecturer at the University of Manchester, Manchester Materials Science Centre, UK. He joined The Dow Chemical Company in November 1995, based in Terneuzen, NL. From November 1995-March 2000, he held several R&D and new business/technology exploration roles within the Polyurethanes and Specialty Chemicals businesses. In April 2000 he moved to Midland, MI., USA, to take an assignment in Corporate Research and Development leading front-end, innovative research initiatives. Mike returned to Europe in October 2004 to join Performance Chemicals and Thermoset Systems, located in Rheinmuenster (Ger.) and Freienbach (Switz.) as Technology Development Leader. He joined Huntsman Advanced Materials in January 2007 as Global Research Director, located in Basel, Switzerland. Mike is married with one daughter. 1

No stranger to Catalyst, Ms. Haller-Jorden is a former Vice President of the Advisory Services group. Before joining Catalyst Europe, she gained extensive experience in human resources planning and consulting as the Managing Director of the Paradigm Group. She was also Founder and Director of the Public Policy Center in Philadelphia. Ms. Haller-Jorden is a frequent lecturer on her broad scope of expertise at such institutions as the International Institute for Management Development (IMD); the London School of Economics and Political Science; the Yale School of Organization and Management; and Columbia University Business School, and she has been interviewed by many global media outlets. She is the Chairperson of the The Humanity Initiative s Executive Board and is Co-Chair of the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA) European Board. Panelist Profiles Dr Roman Borboa Principal, Borboa & Partners Roman Borboa is the main principal of Borboa & Partners, an organization consulting firm dedicated to Organization Behavior services. We synthesize intangibles and tangibles together into a unique whole as we assist clients implement their organization change and/or personal transformation. Roman's areas of special interest are Pragmatic Positive Psychology and its derivates such as Psychological Capital as well as cross cultural initiatives, change and development processes in small and large systems among others. Dr. Borboa is a practicing Swiss and Mexican Psychologist who completed his graduate education in the USA. He moved to Zurich, Switzerland in order to work for General Motors Europe as a manager in Organization Development and Training. Today, Dr. Borboa is an active consultant in organization behavior emphasizing organizations' resilience as well as executive and leadership development with a number of international companies. He has served as Dean of the school of Human Services and Applied Behavioral Sciences in an American University and continues being a faculty member of various higher education business schools. He has also served as president and board member of the Swiss Association for Individual Psychology. 5

She has spent the majority of her career working for ABB, including 10 years in Human Resources, having progressed within the HR organisation from 2001 onwards.
