2 Nuclear Technology Management Professional Development Programme The University of Manchester s Nuclear Technology Management Professional Development Programme (Nuclear-PDP) is a part-time continuing professional development programme for experienced practitioners and new graduates in the nuclear energy industry and those joining the sector from elsewhere. Participants have the option to study for either an MSc, a postgraduate diploma or a postgraduate certificate qualification. Nuclear-PDP, Europe s first full management-focused course for nuclear technology and engineering, provides a flexible and tailored format for those seeking to enhance their skills whilst fitting this in around their current work life. The programme offers a blended learning approach with a combination of distance learning and face-to-face lectures, tutorials and laboratory sessions, delivered by renowned academics and nuclear industry practitioners. The Nuclear-PDP Steering Group is made up of a broad range of industrial representatives from across the nuclear sector. Organisations that send delegates on the course will have a presence on the Steering Group, which operates on a rotational basis with a capped membership limit.

The programme is enhanced by the University s established links with the nuclear industry and Nuclear Technology Education Consortium, and builds on our expertise in the areas of Project Management and Reliability Engineering. 5 Industry focus and skills bodies and economic context representatives from several key nuclear sector companies focus on the long-term development of well-rounded subject matter experts and the retention of expertise and knowledge within the industry for Nuclear from across the sector who attend the programme

6 Flexible learning learning, at home or work, and face-to-face education so participants can fit their course around their professional and other responsibilities so that, once registered, participants won t need to take time away from the office to attend for more than two days per quarter mentoring by and telephone thinking about the subject matter as well as the participant s current role to relate learning to real life give study a real-world context
