Annual Conference LG Professionals Tasmania s major event, which will be held at the Cradle Mountain Hotel from 12 to 14 October 2016 provides a great opportunity for corporate members to access many of the key decision makers in Local Government. Conference delegates are served their meals and refreshments in the trade display area, providing a number of opportunities for corporate members to meet and talk with them. Topical Issues Seminar Each year, LG Professionals Tasmania provides an opportunity for Council employees to hear from experts on topical issues in Local Government. Past seminars have dealt with aspects of insurance and risk management, industrial relations and interpreting legislation affecting councils. Major Event Sponsorship opportunities of $1,210 inc GST are available for each Seminar. Emerging Leaders Program This two day Program, facilitated by the University of Tasmania, is a unique professional development opportunity for current leaders, those who aspire to positions of leadership and those who aspire to provide leadership in a particular area of interest within the Local Government sector. The Program focuses on equipping emerging leaders with an understanding of the key challenges facing local government in the future; the skills and competencies to develop leadership ability; and the resources to continue learning and practicing leadership behaviours.
