MEBLE HOME DECOR LUMINEXPO BUDMA INTERIOR: See you next year! Poland s largest interior decoration trade event is over. It included the following shows: MEBLE, the Interior Design and Home Furnishings Fair HOME DECOR, the Exhibition of Lighting and Light Technology LUMINEXPO and the Interior Finishing and Renovation Fair BUDMA INTERIOR 2008. Almost 600 exhibitors from Poland, Germany, France, Holland, Switzerland, Italy, Great Britain, Turkey, Romania, Ukraine, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, Spain, Portugal, India, Malaysia, Singapore and China presented their offers on the area reaching 30,000 square metres. As many as 25,000 visitors came to the trade fairs on four days it is even 25% more than last year. It was a very successful edition, says Józef Szyszka, Director of Meble and Budma Interior. I am happy that the exhibitors accepted the new form of the show. On the first trade fair days, they hosted at their stands mainly visitors professionally related to the industry, Polish and foreign furniture traders, traders, architects and interior designers. On the last two days, the exhibitors stands attracted mainly end users. Individual clients, i.e. end users of presented products and services admired the rich offers of the exhibitors on Friday and Saturday. Exhibitions seminars shows year s edition was accompanied by numerous and very popular design events: Meblościanka workshops conducted by Tomek Rygalik, Strefa 7 PE-P, transform exhibition hosting renowned Polish and foreign designers, Concept_08 exhibition, the Best Diploma Works in Design 2006/2007, Viva LED and many more. Events accompanying the shows were very well received both by experts and by the general public. Many lighting experts and interior designers were attracted for instance by this year s exhibition entitled: Lighting Interiors VIVA LED.
Seminars devoted to interior decoration trends, such as presentations by Dr. Marek Borowiński, were also very popular, adds Anna Idaszak, Director of Home Decor and Luminexpo. Attractions for visitors The visitors were also satisfied. Furniture buyers stressed that the offers showcased at the fairs were interesting because of their design, and because they were of top quality. The visitors coming to the show on the last two days were pleased not only because they could see exceptionally rich offers in one place, but also because they willingly participated in events prepared especially for them. A consulting point Architect Advice attracted many trade fair participants as it provided free-of-charge advice and tips offered by renowned and experienced interior designers. The Developers Lounge, organised for the first time ever, was a good idea. It attracted many companies and institutions related to the real estate market to one place. The visitors were also willing to view numerous presentations of popular finishing works and to listen to lectures about trends and new products in the interior decoration sector. The recording of the SOFA TV show was an attraction for trade fair visitors on Saturday. Wellknown journalists working for WTK presented two proposals for a living room. They exchanged opinions both with renowned designers and with the audience. Children were happy to play on a colourful playground under the watchful eye of skilled staff. Mass media As usual, many specialist mass media, dailies, radio and TV stations prepared reports about this year s edition of interior decoration shows in Poznań. Over 250 journalists from Poland and abroad were accredited at the MTP Press Centre. A press conference organised by Tomek Rygalik to mark the opening of Meblościanka Workshops for young designers was extremely popular among the journalists. Other press events included a yearly conference of the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Furniture Manufacturers about the situation in the Polish furniture sector and its prospects. Awards MTP Gold Medal The Poznań International Fair Gold Medal is the most precious award presented at the Poznań fair.
